like Steroids or something,Blood doping=adding more red blood cells so you can deliver more oxygen to your muscles it all works.

Well, Eric and i hooked up at SugarHill. We had some fun riding through the woods. especially when we both got stuck at the same time. lol it was weird. muddy in the woods and dusty as hell on the flats. will need to really clean that quad tomorrow.

Still got some work to do on the jetting. went down from a 48 pilot to a 45 and up from 170 to 172 on the main. had a bit of trouble starting the quad whe n stuck on an uphill, thats sucked.

I'm just hoping that i get my YFZ dialed in a bit better. am not happy with he throttle response. Also hope Santos will get his ***** in gear and ship me the shocks before Friday. As a matter of fact if he is not shipping them out today then i will have to insist that he ships them 3-day 2-day or overnight depending when he gets them done. he had them for 3 weeks now but he told me it would be a week 1/2 to 2 weeks. Almost makes me wish i would've gone the Elka way. I understand people are busy but a commitment is a commitment. oh well, rant over.

Hello Seatec and greghall, Good luck this weekend at Budds. The MX race will be happening the whole time your there. You can even sign up for both the MX and the XC races. I've seen people do it. It is a little hectic. But, if you like hectic and your in really good shape and your quad can handle it......go for it! We were going to be there but, I think we are now going to the district 6, Foot of the Mtn race this weekend. It is a real nice course, very similar to Tomahawk but without the MX section. Instead of a MX section they have a large field with lots of flat and off camber switchbacks. We will have to get you guys up here for a Sunday ride this summer. My buddy lives right off the rr tracks, which is great access to some awesome trails. We can even go to the Cecil Co. dragstrip for lunch and watch some cars run.

well you see, my car dont have any scratches on it and its gonna stay that way, or an asain is gonna pay , but a harbor freight just opened up a few miles away and they sell small trailors dirt cheap. But my problem is, whether to get the 3.5'x4' or the 4'x8', the 4'x8' is too big and the 3.5'x4' is too small but I could probably make it work. and my car is only rated to pull 1000 lbs. IF anyone knows someone selling an s-10 for cheap, let me know

Hey Seatec my son Tommy just called me and said " can you take me out on my 4wheeler angain? we can go to that place with that real big man with the cool loud 4 wheeler!!" I cracked up. He likes the flames on your quad. Hey I did some reading to find out about the jetting for my quad and I also looked into why you had probs with restarts. I found what I needed for me and I think I found that your pilot should be a 42 and main a 162 4th clip on needle approx 2 3/4 turns out on fuel screw. Just my findings not a suggestion to be fact.

I ordered the EHS lid and NOSS machine adapter with Uni filter now I need to get thejet kit. I am going to call DF to see if they carry one. I heard to stay away from the dynajet kit?????

My uncle has a big ute and I just love all of that low end torque. I almost missed out on all of this fun and nearly bought one last fall.....glad I held off because sliding around and screaming through the woods is way more fun than crawling through the woods. Are you f..ing nuts:blah: didn't you see me after the Tomahawk race?? I was the one dying from exaustion trying to set a record of most fluid injested in a five minute period:devil:

Actually I would love to but I am not gonna try something like that this year. I think greghall and his buddy lups450r are gonna try it. Hell that is the perfect way to break in that 450 of yours

I think that Cletus, his brother, our buddy Brian (white YFZ 450) and myself will all be up there. I think if you can handle Tomahawk you should be alright for Rausch Creek. I have only raced one GNCC and it was an awesome time. They are run really smoothly and you tend to race against other riders in a similar skill set. The tracks seem to have a wide variety of terrian with slow tough sections and wide open areas to catch your breath.

I rode it Sunday and the 450R is sweet, smooth power and the brakes are sweet. I am kind of worried to run it at Budds with this rain, but hopefully everything will dry out by Sunday. Hey the old R is up for sale if you all know anyone interested.

the race is a Harescramble. It is an hour long race that starts out on the MX track then goes into the woods for about 3.5 miles then comes onto the flat track (my favorite part because it is wfo) then back into the woods then back onto the mx track then all over again for as many laps as you can do in 1 hour. We will probly be parked in the field on the left hand side as you come into the facility.

Dude that blows bigtime I was really looking forwrd to that flat track again. I thought it was really cool hitting those turns wide open sliding like a mofo. Even the mx track was cool except that small double I forgot about at the top of the hill by the office. I nosed dived into that so hard I think I blacked out for a second!@#$%^&*() thats what I saw!!! Well the woods there are good enough no killer rock sections just ruts, roots, whooped out sections and some mud holes that you better hit with some speed! Everyone better bring thier legs because with the rain that is forcasted there are gonna be some stuck quads

greghall
04-27-2004, 06:44 AM

Some of the ruts on the back side by the dragstrip get pretty rough & the braking bumps on the hill beat you to death but I think the new R will handle it really good.I will need to get a good start if the fast guys have a clear track they will be gone,& 1 hour is'nt enough to catch them.

seatec
04-27-2004, 10:28 AM
Maybe i should bring the Grizzly to pull some of us out of the mud holes.:D
I think that if the weather holds the mud wont be that bad. just keep your speed up and hang way back on the quad when hitting it. I for one am going to check what others are doing and mimic if they get through.

cletusEX
04-27-2004, 11:00 AM
I don't think it's going to be bad. Some rain will help keep the dust down. The start at Budds can be a little rough if it's dusty.

Just joking, you guys are CRAZY on the start I don't want to get crashed up,I let all you guys go up Tomahawk everybody was real reckless on that first lap.I seen guys do some reckless stuff & it cost them in that race.Budds can be a little dangerous because of the speed on the open trails.

Dude I get so anxious on the start I forget all the things I said I wouldn't do and just rip as fast as I can then I realize I better slow down because I am out of energy. Well I am not sure what route to take at Budds because it is a short race and I think the start could determine the race. Getting behind slower racers that get stuck(like me) could F-up the outcome of ones results real quick I am turning on the afterburners and not looking back. No seriously this race will probly be won by whoever gets stuck the least.

That is how most of the races are won. 10-20 seconds is a long time to make up on someone of the same skill level in the woods, but if you get stuck you can easily spend that amount of time getting ustuck. Usually you waste minutes getting out of a mud hole or off a tree. Not too mention the energy wasted. Starts are important but running a clean race helps more in my opinion.

Thanks for the props. I did have to pull over because I was staring death in the eye. I think the heat relly got to me. I was in a total dazze. I pulled over with Seatec for a rest and I nearly blacked out. I couldn't even talk. I know hydration wasn't an issue because I took a mean piss while trying to catch my breath. I softened up the suspension to full soft and it made such a difference. I really think the suspension was waaaaayyy to stiff at Tomahawk. I am looking into TCS shocks because they seem like alot of bang for the buck. Anyone using TCS that could back up thier reputation or discourage them??

How much are TCS compared to ELKA. I run elka's and love them and also got them in a week and a half. It's nice not having to wait a long time.

I'm right there with you Seatec. I've been riding for only 2 years. Never rode a dirtbike or any kind of quad before that, so I'm still learning.

All the shocks are comparable in price I would go with Elka's or Axis if you are going to keep the bike & race it,if not save the money.

Sounds good. I still have to order mine for the HMF. That thing is MEGA loud! Vic swears that the HMF has more bottom end than the GYTR....What did you think? Maybe just the jetting?

Ericthered rdr
04-28-2004, 08:59 PM
Axis are the chit but I am not waiting for them, Elkas are excellent but for almost a grand less I can get the TCS fully adjustable triple rate fronts with remote rezzies and a custom dual rate rebuild on my rear shock. I am getting a lot of positive feedback on them from Z400CENTRAL.COM I could put that extra grand into a GPR 2.0 steering setup. I love the Elka's but I am not going to be good enough to need the very best. I am most concerned with customer support and reliability and I know that Elka has the best of both but I am being told that TCS rivals them. I really wish there was a way to try it before you buy it.

Chris how much longer till you can ride bud????

cletusEX
04-28-2004, 09:19 PM
I thought TCS where priced similarly to Elka. I got my whole set up for like 1600 and that's with the rear shock not a rebuild.

seatec
04-29-2004, 01:28 AM
Chris, i think the gytr has more bottom and it could be because of jetting that vic thinks the hmf has more but hey. it cant be that much off a difference. Maybe we should take a saturday and swap the hmf with the gytr and see how the they feel on one quad.

Eric, i think TCS is a totally underrated shock. Talk to bob at magnolia tractor. he knows alot about the TCS. Elka however is a bigger name and might be able to give you better turn around and cust. service.

howdy all! I finally got a chance to get back in here and yack for a while. Are you guys trying for a thread world record???We will be racing at Foot of the Mtn. this Sunday with the district 6 guys. We would go to Budds if they were using the long track. Maybe next time.
Eric, don't feel bad about having to stop...one of the Kyte brothers had to pull off and puke at T-hawk, then he thought he was having a heart attack...just a little overheated I guess.
I like the little "HOLD ON" jokes you guys keep giving Eric. Eric, I wish I had a dollar for every time I almost went over the bars!
I do ride in NorthEast. I have been riding there for over 20 years and have never seen any type of law enforcement. I have heard of others getting caught...typically they stay in the same place and have kids with them so they can't run. We mix it up and ride alot of different areas. We'll have y'all up this summer.

Been riding for a couple of weeks....just around the trails at my home. Going pretty light..( still much faster than seatec though:D ..j/k!!) I can manage a few hot laps ,( 5th gear pinned ), around the field in front of my house. I even raced a 115# kid on a piped Banshee for several laps..... We both ran wide open and I was suprised to see the YFZ was faster. I'd let him come out of the turns first, then I would run him down and pass him by the time we got about 3/4 of the way across the field:eek: . I was pretty sore after that though. Yeah a buddy of mine pulled in a nice 38" last Saturday south of the Choptank. The only fish they caught, but it was a nice one. I think I'll wait a little longer till they start getting them in the chum slicks. I don't care much for trolling.

The flats have been off lately becauseof the muddy water. I know some charter captains and they have had some awsome trips this week sometimes with six fish by 8am. The croakers are already here in the Pax river and some have been caught up to 22" My buddy larry nailed a 50 pounder this week. I only hope to catch a decent keeper. I will let you know how I did tommorrow night.

seatec, I found those little gas cap breather thingies at a place called Macicracing.com. They were $13.00 so I bought one. Thanks for lookin! Also, I asked a black guy here at work what BLING meant. He said "BLING BLING means shiny jewelry or Diamonds" I think of the cap breather more of a help than just looks. I hate twisting and untwisting that breather tube. I also didn't finish a race where I should have due to the breather tube being stuck in the steering stem, which was full of water. It will be easier to take off quickly if ever needed. I hope to get an oversize tank before the Rausch GNCC. I also fish a little for them stripers! I actually walk across the field from my house and fish the beach of the elk river. Right where the canal starts. I hate getting the really big ones because they are so hard to drag home;) I really can't wait for them there blueclaws to start runnin:macho mmmmmmmmmm

Wow guys I had an awsome day on the water with my dad.The weather was beautiful and the fishing action was red hot. We trailered my dads Grady White down to breezy point and got a late start. We didn't get any lines in the water until 8:30am. as we were letting the third line out be had our first hit and it was a strong one stripping line for a couple of minutes, well dad lost that one but by 9:30 we had each caught a nice 35" rockfish and we were ready for some catch and release. We nailed three more fish all the same size (most all of the fish we saw today were in the mid 30's) I was really hoping for a big "cow" but...hey with the weather we had today and the fact that we caught more than our limit (witch we released) and I got to spend quality time with dad I was more than happy. We were home and boat put away all washed and pretty by the time we usually get off the water. Excellent day man... good times. Now all we need is some good weather on Sunday.
