Well Guys and Gal. Let me be the first to thank all of you for a really cool time at The Landing. Everybody is even nicer in real life.
I especially had a good time since i saw somebody who was even bigger than me:D

THanx again GUys for making this a very enjoyable day at the track. Since i am probably the only guy in the world who doesnt have a digital camera, the pictures i took will have to be developed first and put on CD. Maybe tuesday. WHere are we going next?

Hey I had a great time today!!! It was great to see everyone and get a chance to ride. We had a good showing today at the LandingMX in Easton. I wish I had more time to hang around today. Now I have something to look forward to in meeting up with you guys again. I was very happy to get a chance to try Seatec's 450 man that thing was all balls. It better be I can't even imagine how much he has tied up in that thing. Honda5 is that thing for sale yet? Hell anything beats the old X machine! Well it was nice to meet and ride with you guys and I am looking forward to the chance to meet again, thanks for letting me ride the 400 and 450 now I am more ashamed of the X machine then I ever was so I guess I am gonna have to buy me something to be able to hang with you guys. Well gotta go and take some more Advil I hope I will be able to walk tommorrow I am already sore as Shyte!!!

Well guys we made it back all in one piece. Got home washed the bikes and then went to Kent Island for a V-Day dinner. That was rough to sit through dinner and being tired and sore!!
Well we had a great time riding with you guys and hope to meet up again. Will probably run the race at the Landings the first weekend in March.
Got everyones name except for guy with the blue 450. What was his name? Mr Honda is having problems remembering since he crashed! All his memory side of his brain came out his right ear and all his artisic side got moved to the middle :D now he can play the piano like Mozart. He really fine just hand is swollen and ribs are a little sore. Bike and helmet are great!!

Eric,
Glad you had a good time. I'd say you where doing pretty good on that x. YOU might be supirised that most of the money i put in my quad was in the hipers and tires and the rest is just skid and nerfs and such stuff. only thing i did to improove preformance is change jetting pipe and airbox lid off. Glad you liked it though. i still missed the chance to ride honda5's trx but there is always next time.:D

I shouldve kept my mouth shut to YLW about usually not hurting after a ride because today my leggs are killng me. Oh well, advil will me my friend today.:(

I am sooo friggin sore today! I guess I just gonna have to lay around and watch the Daytona race. The wife and I are big Nascar fans. I am going to bring the little dudes with me next time I felt terrible going home yesterday for not bringing them. I want to try Rausch Creek next. So when are we going?!?! Hope that wreck wasn't to bad honda5 hope you are ok.

Cool, I am a bit of a NSACAR fan too. Its my wife thats obsessed with it. hehe. My main is Tony and second is Newman. My wifes are Jr and then Happy Harvic. If you are a 24 fan then you and my wife are going to have it out. lol

Anyways, i think Dave was ok. he could breath easily so no harm done.

Well after riding with some great members of exriders, I had to register on the "RED" site. I'm Chris....seatec's friend with the blue YFZ. Had an excellent time riding with you all. Looking forward to a Rausch Creek trip too.......SOON! I got some pics on my digital. I'll try an post a few in the next couple of days.

BTW.....I'M SORE !!!!:(

Ericthered rdr
02-15-2004, 04:02 PM
Glad to see you join us Chris. So what is the pee wee track like at Rausch? Is this a place for the little guys? I should have my trailer for next trip.

Hey Seatec I guess your wife is letting you have it since Jr. took Tony. That was a good race between those two. My favs are Jr. and Tony so I really enjoyed this race. Well I am going to hop in the Jaccuzi to try to relax man I am getting more and more stiff as the day goes on!

Honda5
02-15-2004, 04:58 PM
Well Eric if we knew you had a jacuzzi we would have been over. We are both sore too. Dave is fine just sore. His hand was swollen this morning but has gone down down. His ribs are just sore-not broken. Rausch Creek sounds great! When are we going? We pick up the new camper tomorrow morning. We will then be ready to go ride and camp, just let us know.

BTW-tell the wives to come too so I'm (Becky) not bored with just the guys...just kidding but it would be nice to have some females there too!

seatec
02-15-2004, 05:10 PM
Hey chris. glad yousigned up on the board. if you want the pictures posted i can help you. you have to be a paatron to do so.

Yeah, that was a good race wasnt it? Michael wrecked out big didnt he?

GLad Dave is ok, Becky. We cant wait to get up to Rausch creek aswell. i understand its going to be 50's next weekend.:D

Ericthered rdr
02-15-2004, 05:55 PM
So Dave let's hear the details of the wreck. I want to learn what not to do! I hope it wasn't on the pee wee track:blah:

hey Seatec what's the deal on the taking the kids to rausch, is it a good idea or is this a big kids track. If it is more advanced then the one at the Landing it will be too much for them they are on 50's and they are only 5 & 6 y.o. and it will be thier first time to a track.

Becky I will try to get the wife to come with us on the next trip. MY only concern is she will make me buy her a quad and that will mean she would get one first before I get anything better:confused:

seatec
02-15-2004, 06:12 PM
Eric, Rausch is great for kids, they have two great peewee tracks, they dont let any big bikes on them either. Hey, give you x to your wife and you get a z.

02-16-2004, 09:44 AM
Hey, just ask and ill let you ride it anytime.

All you guys have given me a dilemma. I thought i was a woods rider but now that i am little more confident on the MX tracks (well, the beginners track anyway lol ) i am leaning towards MX. its very exciting to cut through the corners and head towards a jump and landing it perfectly.(ok laugh guys. you call them hops but to me they are jumps ). Maybe i should work out some more so my quad wont have a heart attack when i start jumping bigger stuff and give a C-Vet MX race a try. Wadda ya think? Budds creek comes to mind.

I should have my pictures back today in digital format so i can post a few tonight.

Seatec, need your email address so I can send you a pic of your new camping spot.

Eric, the 400 ex is not for sale until maybe after July. I (Becky) have to take it to Michigan to ride the dunes. You tell your wife to come to the track the next time I'm there and she can try the 250 ex out and then you can go buy her one. She might in return buy you a new one later. :D

JC-as soon as our track dries up, I'll have you over to try it out and if you think the rest of the guys from ex-riders might like it we will have them over for a ride and picnic!

Dave is ok. His wreck was not as bad as we thought! He doesn't know who he is yet-but that's ok! He wrecked on the beginner track-on a flat right-hand turn-go figure?? Can't wait to get together again.

Hey guys I hope I am not the only one that is still sore! I need a ride with more suspension. I bottomed out quite a few time and I think that is why I am still hurting.

YLW to answer your question I am looking for a new ride. I am not sure when I am going to do it though because I need to get my knee's fixed and that is going to limit my riding time this year, but if I run across the right deal I am going to jump on it. I see people are starting to unload there 400's to get 450's at really low prices just to unload them.

So have we started working on details for our next ride? It sounds like Rausch is the place. WHen is the question??????

Hope everyone is doing well:D

I have contiplated selling mine this year, but I don't know if I would have the time to get another quad, set it up and get accoustomed to it for this race season....I am definitely going to sell it before next race season, thats for sure..

I am still a little bit sore, not too bad though.

I am hitting Easton again this weekend, or Seaford..One of the two!!!!

seatec
02-17-2004, 08:46 AM
Eric, i have to admit that i am also a little sore, still. THen again, i have a good excuse. I am a Desk Jockey. :D

Going out to Easton again. Saturday or Sunday?
I understand that there will be some rain around here this saturday.

Dave and Becky got me and my wife going again on the RV stuff so i am thinking about hitting the RV Show at the Maryland Fair Grounds in Timonium this weekend. Will have to find a place to park the damn thing. That's one of the things that suck about living in a Townhome. Dirt Cheap but no space.

Does Seaford have a website that i can check out?

YLW400
02-17-2004, 10:37 AM

Anthony that is so friggin awsome I like some of the options on that thing especialy the screen room. I stopped and looked at a 28' similar to that one at Chessaco and it was about $22,000. They have a storage lot there I don't know how much they charge.

Sounds like bad weather this weekend

YLW. F'n financing dude. THats al i got to say. Unlike Dave and Becky who will let you sleep under the awning (how generous of them  ) i will let MY Friends sleep in side. Plenty of room. Thats why i am looking at something like that. With you pigs (and me!) i can just hose the thing out. :D

Hey Eric, you of italian decendants? We are paisan then. I know, i dont look much like an italian but my grandpa was. I am what you get if you mix and italian guy with a tall blond Northern European woman. Scary aint it?

It does not look good for riding this weekend mother nature is back in action again. The eastern shore is supposed to get the worst of it. The RV show sounds like a good idea I could find many ways to spend more money there. If you are serious about buying now is the time of year to do it, plus interest rates are only going to go up.

My wife is a movie junkie I have my Saprano's Band of brothers, Gladiator and American pie movies and thats good for me she gets the rest for the kids and her.

I have some of the boxes too like Band OF Bro's and The Shield. We are also a little Sci-Fi so we have all Babylon 5 seasons except the last one cause its not out yet. Lotsa John Wayne and Clint. I also got some Ah-Nold of course. You will have to come over someday and check it out. i have been meanig to catalog them and dump it in a database and publish it on-line for my firends to see cause they always come over and borrow Movies.

50% chance of rain on Sat. doesn't say morn day or eve. If it is eve then it is perfect. It can wash that dirt that turned into cement off of my quad. If it is day rain then I am goin to the RV show to see what it feels like to be D&B in that new rolling castle.

Seatec-I think I know what Eric is doing. He is using the raptor rear shock and the 400 EX shocks on his 250 X, the front end of a 400 fits the frame of a 250X. I did that to my old 250X. Great idea! Works pretty good.
Eric & Seatec-hope you go to the RV show this weekend and hope you buy your rolling castle. Get the toy box Seatec-you can leave it at our house. We have enough room! JC you are still welcomed to stay under the awning of ours.

Well honda5 knows what is goin on with the old x machine
I picked up a Raptor rear shock for $125 bucks and it bolts right on.

I bought a front shock relocator kit for the front and I am bidding on some shocks now.

This is a temporary fix for my jumping woes... unitl I get a better ride. I am going to look at an '01 Raptor tommorrow. I really don't want to buy it but it is loaded w/aftermarket goodies and he only wants 2grand because he is broke and needs fast cash. I have heard real bad horror stories about the '01 so I am not sure. I really want an EX or Z but for 2 grand I could part the thing out and get way more than that out of it?

Hey Eric,
Yeah we might run into each other there. It's not like you can miss me or anything. Ill be the one yelling at the Sales person for being a total mornone to even dare to ask a price that high. :D

I just love dealing with sales people. It's like a little war.

Anyway, ill be wrenching to tmorrow and put my Steering stem in and new SS brake lines. THat oughta be interresting since i never ever bled a brake line before. i think i might pick up one of those automotive blleders from Pep Boys or something. Is there a style that is peferred or are they all the same?

Honda5
02-20-2004, 07:03 AM
As soon as the weather clears and our track dries up from all the snow and rain. We will let you guys know when to come over to ride. It's not a big track but it closely resembles the beginner track at Easton with a few doubles and whoop section. I also have a small woods trail to ride. This is fun for a one day ride. Bring the brats, wife, kids and quads!

Honda5
02-20-2004, 07:06 AM
Seatec- it's real easy to bleed the brakes. Just take your time, and go slow and just do one side at a time by pumping the oil thru. Don't let the ressy go low. You shouldn't have a problem

seatec
02-20-2004, 07:13 AM
I was wondering how i would do a doubel brake line bleed. Its not the split kind but a dual line right from the banjo bolt. Just keep one side closed on the caliper an the other open? and the reverse?

Anthony

PS i bet it will be fun hanging out at your place with the guys.

You guys are really close to Budds Creek right? are you going to race MX or HS there?

Delaware152
02-20-2004, 07:50 AM
YLW400.. I am going to Seaford on Sunday. It is supposed to be nice and the track was is good shape last weekend so this week should be even better. You better ride b/c 4 laps at Budd's Creek next weekend could be ugly. Whose are you meeting up to East Coast b/c I figured all of them would be at Motorama.

YLW400
02-20-2004, 08:16 AM
If i can get up there Saturday and get it home at a decent hour..and put it all back together again, I Will be there Sunday. I am meeting with Matt, he said between 1:30 and 2..I have to call today and confirm with him though.

Are any of you guys coming to Budds next weekend for the mX race??

Seatec, if I were you I Would buy one of those tools, I have had nothing but problems with bleeding brake lines...lol Maybe I just suck at it..lol

seatec
02-20-2004, 08:39 AM
I am on the fence about going to the MX event at Budds Creek. I will probably come to watch at least to get some idea how it works. Never done the MX. I probably wont even be able to do 4 laps on that track anyway. Ill be "that guy" who looks like a fool , head jerking back and forth and almost falling of his bike from exhaustion and all.:D

I'll definately get one of those bleeder tools to make the job easier for me. and if i mess it up ill just use engine braking and rear brake to slow down. :eek2:

YLW400
02-20-2004, 09:05 AM

Hey Honda5, you said you are 45 mins. up 301 from the bay bridge. Sounds like you are pretty close to Galena or Millington? My g/f lives right outside of Galena. I work outside of Galena as well, at my families restaurant. Next time there is a ride at Easton (schedule permitting) I plan on crashing at her place so that I can make the ride. This weekends out for me though, I will be at motorama all day on Sat.

Seatec...Try opening both bleeders and let them gravity feed. Just make sure you keep the master cylinder full or so it doesn't get air. When fluid starts running out the bleeders then bleed each side. This works for me. Hope this helps. Let me know if any questions.

Dude, i am at work dreaming about wrenching on the quad right now.:( I also have to wait for good weather before i can wrench. some of us dont have the luxury of a Garage you know. See how poor i am.

When i had the bike i used to walk it down these really steep steps just to be able to wrench on them in the basement. It's amazing i hadnt killed myself doing it. Just to indicate how steep these steps where. We had to winch the bike out of the basement. thats how steep it is. Crazy stuff.

Hey guys, you all missed a great day of riding (sorry to run it in) lol Quads actually had their own class yesterday. There were peobably 20 quads....It was Delaware152, Pgregg, myself.......The JRD guys, and quite a few others. The track was actually dusty! In pretty good shape though!! Maybe next time;) So, who all is coming to Budds this weekend?

seatec
02-23-2004, 06:37 AM
Yeah rub it in!! Nah, actually had a good time wrenching even with the set backs we had with the handguards and the clutch cable. I orderd a Works Pro Perch to fix the clutch problem. I just thought of a chreap way to fix it but i'd rather have a works clutch perch. I might come down to budds to watch the race but im not going to participate. I'd rather live a few more years thank you. I think i need a half a season on MX tracks before i feel that i can go out on a track and not get killed or kill somebody else.

Anyway, how did you do yesterday and how did the arms perform?

Honda5
02-23-2004, 08:10 AM
jc what is the schedule for budds and what day/days. I might load up the rv and go down.eric I talked to the tax man on friday and it was not good for me i've got to give him the money for my a-arms,shocks, stem+other parts(guess i'll start saving again).seatec you asked about where I lived and i said off 301 I should have stated on the shore a little town called sudlersville. Wrenching is always fun man...When everything goes as planned anyway...lol I actually got the arms put on in no time..Everything went flawless, I couldn't believe it. I started around 8:30 on Saturday night, and had it done around 10...that was with eating in the middle too! Mounted up perfectly. Well if you come I can at least have you in my cheering section:D They have good pulled pork sandwhiches too!! lol I rode better that I have in a long time......maybe ever actually...lol I think that break helped me..sounds strange, but I really think it did.

Honda, I have heard there is racing on Saturday, and Sunday, I am not sure though. I will be leaving here around 5:30-6am on Sunday, and arriving around 8 or 8:30. Quads usually practice at 10:20, but i have seen it as early as 9:45....Tell that guy on that Moto to stay out of C class!!!! lol I don't need that fast *** thing in my class. Are you going to race Honda5??

Delaware152
02-23-2004, 08:33 AM
I will be there. I heard it was actually dusty at Budd's yesterday also. There were around 30 quads there. This weekend there will probaly be twice that..in C right YLW400. I am hoping to have the "race C-Dale ready very soon. Then I can keep one of them running. lol

YLW400
02-23-2004, 08:47 AM
You are probably right Delaware. THere will be a thousand quads in "C" class.. I Would like to actually have a full gate, and no more. When I race I only get to race against 12 or so because they split the class up.... Hey Delaware....do you have a phone number for D-7????? I sent a check to them a few weeks back, and I need to check the status to see if I am going to have my card by this weekend!!

Yea, the sign up booth usually opens at 7, but if you get there that early to sign in you would just kick yourself in the butt..lol I usually sign up around 8:30 or so, and I'm fine..Delaware is the same way, thats where I got it from:D You oughta come out and race though man, it is a blast. You don't have to jump everything, just come out and have fun! Heck ,I don't jumo everything!! lol

Thanks for the link!!! Did you just tear the bottom piece off of your application for proof?

I'll think about the race YLW. i suck pretty bad at jumping and amalways afraid that if i roll something som Jackass is gonna land on my head:D

When you pay D7 at the booth they tear the bottom strip off. its only like 1 inch high and and the width of the form. i still have my regualr AMA card good until 8/2004 so only have to pay D7 and 25 bux to race i guess.

What do you mean about not having to jump everyting? is there stuff i absolutely have to jump? If so, how big are the jumps.
As you can tell, im a bit nervous about that.:(

I was just reading the forums on the D7 site and some guy said something about this race track in PA called Wolfmann's Motocross.
Seems to be real newbie mx friendly.
ANybody heard of it?

Here is the link. Wolfman (http://www.wolfsmoto.com/)

Yea, that would never be a good thing..lol

Oh, I see..I payed through the mail like a dum dum, and now it is going to take forever to get to me.. Yup, thats all you need!!

No certaintly not, there is not a single jump you HAVE to jump at all. You can ride over every single one if you want. Once you do it more you will be more comfortable...This track isn't know for huge jumps at all....Most of it is elevation changes, up hills and back down. There are 2 very off camber turns though...THose are probably the most overwhelming things honestly. If you aren;t doing anything on Saturday, and don't live too awfully far maybe you could ride over and check it out. I am not sure how close you live to there though...If anything, bring the quad on Sunday and your gear....If you want to race, go for it, if you don't, nothing lost...

Hey guys,
I want to run a HS this year what cards do I need. Also what class should I go in I am 31 so does that put me in w/the old farts:blah:

Seatec I can't go on Sunday I am wrapping up a side job...I need the money for some riding gear so I can look good like you guys:devil:

seatec
02-23-2004, 09:39 AM
Eric, Sorry to hear about SUnday but maybe next time.
To run HS you need the AMA card and the D7 card bot available at the Booth at BUdds Creek. THe Cards will be sne t home to you and in the mean time you hold on to you form stubbs and those are proof. Look at BUddscreek (http://www.buddscreek.com) and see what classes in quad they run.
They have quad Vet, 2-stroke and 4-stroke. and Vet i think.

I also want to run HS also. sounds like fun.

Ericthered rdr
02-23-2004, 09:59 AM
Looks like I would do the Quad Vet class

have any of you guys done the HS at budds yet?? just wondering how hard and long the race is??? I am just looking to have some fun.

greghall
02-23-2004, 10:04 AM
Eric, you will need a disctrict 7 card & ama card & also what class & has A class,VET A class,4 stroke B,2 Stroke B I heard they may change that but I havent heard anything Vet class is tough I was the #1 vet for 2 years & #2 foir the first two years & I would cosinitly finish in the top five overall in mostly all the races but I havent races for tow years & last years vet class was the toughest you have some real fast guys in it now so enless you are real fast I would race B Im going to race B to test my speed when I get my bike & race at budds inthe spring,we will have to get together to ride & test our speed in the woods somne guys are real fast & never raced before, but it will take a few races to sort it all out because you have to be smart in a HS also speed dont always win the race somrtimes its whos smarter.I hope to race B if they let me because vet was a A class & I couldnt run in B.let me know if you have anymore locall HS ? im still up on it & know most of the people who race dist. 7.

I raced two HS at budds creek on my CRF450. THe course is about 4 mile and not very technical but can be tricky with mud.
I made the mistake of doing my first HS every on the hottest day after 3 days of rain 2 years ago. i thought i was going to pass out right there on the bike and all i kept chanting to myself was , DON'T STALL THE BIKE, DON'T STALL THE BIKE, . That was brutal but i was totally unprepared and the race was 2 hours.

Eric, i will join you and do a HS at budds in the c class i guess if possible or wherevere noobs like me start. 4-stroke or so might be good too. Anyway, well figure it out. I would get the cards first so you wont get slammed with a big billed at the booth.
(39 ama + 15 D7+ 10 entrance fee + 25 race) dang.

R's...you name it, it;s out there..lol

I race D-7 HS. You guys should definitely come out. Budds is a good track for a beginner or somebody just getting back into racing. No rocks and not too many tight sections. It can be real muddy if it rains. As for classes, there are fast guys in every class. I race the 4-stroke b class and usually am right in the middle. (If I don't wreck:p )

Seatec, race 4 stroke B. D-7 doesn't have a C class so B is a good place to start. Especially at Budds there are usually some first time guys in the B class. The vet class has some pretty fast guys.

Eric, i am still on the fence about where to ride. I kinda wanna check out Budds Creek but probably wont have the balls to actually compete but thats sunday. RTSE wants to go to Rausch creek which i havent been to in a while either and wouldnt mind doing. I guess first things first. i have to make sure my quad can actually run before i make any kind of decision. I think Sugar hill is out after your report on what the conditions are out there.
Maybe we can hit Grayson on saturday but thats probably washed out too.

Ericthered rdr
02-24-2004, 07:53 AM
I would like to do Rausch but my kids have their last indoor soccer game on Saturday at 4pm so I think Rausch is a little far.
Lets see how much precip we get today and try to make a decision from there. Also I should have my trailer by this Friday so when we do go somewhere like Rausch you and Chris are welcome to hop on and save the need to take multiple trucks.

Man I don't know yet I was supposed to go look at it over the weekend but he went to Motoramma on sat then Budds on Sun so as soon as I hook up it should be a done deal as long as the thing is what he says it is. My only problem is that I hear so many horror storries about the "Craptor". I went to a couple of sites and found the problems they have and from what I can see once you upgrade those two main problems (second gear and starter oneway) they are good to go. I would prefer a 400 but the price is right on this one. I tried to see if the wife would let me just go finnace a new one but that went over like a fart in church and sice I need what she has..... you get the point!

Hey guys, saw the awesome thread you have going on and had to join the forum. I am from Jarrettsville, MD and saw a lot of local posts so i figured i would sign up. As always, looking for places to ride(legally, got a little kid you know). I know what you mean about that. The real shame is you have to be like now a days or before you know it there's tons of idiots there leaving trash, tossing beer cans, and just basically screwing it up for everyone. So, you ride a YFZ huh? Did you go to motorama last weekend? I think they had every YFZ yamaha built there racing this past weekend.....LOL It was crazy how many I saw. Made me wanna get one to.

Never been to a "track"on the Shee. I did take the street bike to Michigan this past September to road race it with a bunch of guys (about 50)I know from the internet. It was sweet rented the whole track for two days, got some killer pics of me draggin my kneee around the corners. Right now im waiting on the kid to hone his skills a little bit before I take him anywhere. This is going to be his second summer on a clutch and sometimes he's a little unsure of himself on some terrian. I know where Spenceola is, its 10 minutes from my house. I thought you were racing the "R" at Budds Dave?!?!? Is everyone at the D&B mansion feeling better? I think what it looks like is that JC and 152 are racing at buds. I am not sure what day I am going to do my side job but if I work on Sat I want to go to Rausch. So I hope you got all of this because there is going to be a test on Friday.:blah:
