Yeah, David bought himself a thumper "finally!". I told him over and over again that he would be happy and now that he has it he is a pig in sh$t. I think he is selling the kdx220 for like 3100 or something.

Seatec....Man if my knees weren't as bad as they are and I had the cash to play with I would have one too. As light as I am I would fly on a 250. Honda built the ultimate trail bike ever in the CRF250x. Now they need to step up and make a 450x for the big boys. Hey I feel stood up...I stopped by last night but you weren't there. I think I past you about 7:45.

I bought my kids bike at planet honda in Wilmington, DE. Its about an 70 miles away but the guy was nice as can be and excellent to deal with! I have his card in my truck I will get you his name at lunchtime. I called in advance and bargained over the phone with the guy, (talked him down $300) went to pick it up at a prenegotiated price and when I got the he dickered some more and I walked out even 200 bucks cheaper than when I talked to him on the phone.......Id definately buy a bike there again.

P.s. I went to Petes and the fat *** in sales acted like his chicken salad sandwich was more important then selling a bike. Asked him a question and he gave me some smart *** answer so I told him to enjoy his sandwich cause it just cost him 3 grand and I walked out.........f*#K Petes........anyways im starting to rant.........But long story short, When Petes is the last dealer on earth I will start riding a skate board.

Well, finnally got back home from the delmarva series race at seaford today, it was a blast!!!! Especially the second moto, i dont think ive ever had more fun in a race than that. delaware152 ended up first in A class, its amazing how fast he can go around that track, Honda5 ended up first for B, matt estep took first in vet, and i ended up first for C. To my knowledge i dont think anyone really wrecked or even had any problems today, it was a perfect day. If anyone can post somepics on here i might have a couple that are pretty good.

I think I spend more time looking around to make sure it was going to hit anyone than paying attention to the riding.......oh well, there are a few nice jumps where you can get some air time.

jrspawn, Dam you guys came home happy from Seaford huh? Do you guys ride at Blue Diamond? I remember reading in here a while ago about a group of guys that frequently rode there and it was better than last year for quads. Does the ATV section have more to it now? Actual trails? or just a big sandpit with a track and some jumps? Ask your buddy matt if he use to work at DuPont in Newark de. back in the early 90's.

HEY YOU D-7 GUYS!!!!you getting ready for Budds on 9/12? You do see that we are all one more spot down since we didn't make Oakland? I am so out of shape from not racing since June I can barely stand it. I have been riding a very little bit on the R. I have been practicing starts a little and I must say, I feel more comfortable now with the kick start than I did on the EX. It just feels more natural to kick, let out the clutch and twist the throttle all at the same time. After the first couple of rides, I have not had any trouble starting the R at all:D See y'all at Budds:blah: Later!

Hey, we were definetly happy with the results of sunday, i think we all had smiles on our faces on the ride home. Myself, matt, and a few other guys are at blue diamond regulary, we have improved the track greatly. We are adding more jumps everytime we are out there, Plenty of tabletops, lots of doubles, soon to be whoops, and for anyone that likes to get serious air, we now have a 90ft. up hill triple, or you can just 40ft double it. Its definetly improved there. I might be there this thursday and probably sunday, if anyone else wants to go, just get a hold of me.

I can't wait till Budds. I think I might try and hit the Foot of the Mountain race this Sunday. And then Budds is the 12th, then Oakland on the 19th (I think), then it's the Mountaineer GNCC on the 25th. I think Sept. is going to be nice!:D I just hope the old EX can handle all of that. Nick, We'll definately be at Budds, maybe Oakland, definately WV GNCC and hopefully the remaining 2004 D-7 races and maybe some D-6. I see that Rausch Creek is having a D-6 race on Sep. 19th that was a hell of a turn out last year...I did well there! Since you'll have your D-6 card from Foot Of Mtn. you might as well use it up:D. I don't think we will be at Foot O Mtn this weekend... Ron is getting some work done on his 400, I don't think it will be done. Although we do like that course. I think if I spend one more weekend at home I should be good to go for the rest of the year:devil:. The wife will be glad to get rid of me;) .

No, just some minor maintenance....as far as I know:eek: unless.....he is having Andy sneek something in that motor and he isn't telling me. I guess I'll find out soon enough:D

Eric, have you ever been to Blue Diamond? It is great for the kids. This weekend they are having a carnival, fireworks, Monster trucks etc. The bad thing is the cost. Everyone needs a 50.00 annual Blue Diamond Card plus 25.00 for each time you ride. It's only about 30 minutes from Elkton. We might be there Sunday.

Second moto #5,#133, #61.

Hey, Dave from the landing accually invited a buddy of mine an myself to come down wensday night and thursday to put some input into the track from a quad perspective(i was extremely impressed with that) after walking it off wensday night, thursday we loaded up the quads to check out some of the changes, its turning out to be pretty sweet. We put in some kicker style step downs, changed some of the landings, and there's gonna be a new section called "pinned out", should be pretty sweet. It was awesome to go out there thursday and have it to ourselves really, i gotta say dave is a pretty cool guy, And he loves to see a quad get out there and rip it up, if anyone see's him anytime, ask him about "high speed harry" he was pretty impressed of what a buddy of mine could jump on a quad. I think ill definetly be riding at easton a lot more now, we kinda got screwed around with at blue diamond, started off there good and had a lot of stuff that we were told we could do there, but show up one day and they didnt want to do anthing else, so ill just ride somewheres else if thats how they want to treat someone just because we ride a quad.

thank you.

So did they change all the tracks, or just the main one? How is it safety wise...seatec and I are old and feeble:D ...we get hurt easy:( ...No "super hero" stuff for us. My main concern was any steep faced take-offs and landings with big open gaps...those are the helicopter ride out jumps I like to avoid. Hey the jumps arent too scary, the lips and take offs on most of the jumps at the landing are almost always pretty steep, as well as pretty steep landings, he tamed down some of the landings so they will be more forgiving. Some of the new kicker jumps in the back have very steep take offs, but are very simple and fun jumps, just make sure you chop out of the throttle at the right time. All this is on the intermidiate track( the big one) he also changed some stuff on the expert bike track, added a couple new jumps, thats also how m buddy got the nickname of "highspeed harry". Overall i just think its pretty cool that dave will listen to us quad guys.

Wait till you have to work 50 hours a week guys!!& then take care of 3 kids while the wife works!!

:p :p :p you tell'm Greg....you forgot to add in there taking care of vehicles for you and all her family, house maintenance(grass, paint, new bathroom, kitchen etc), and not to mention fishing and racing time:confused: boy does that add up....
Greg, sorry to hear you will not be at Budd's...NOT:D jk hopefully, I can gain some points on ya;)

Nick, yea me and Ron will be there. I need to get an axle and get it in the R before Sunday. I trashed mine yesterday practicing on our woods loop. I was sorta out of control in one of the fast sections and just missed a tree with the front tire....but the rear tire sticks out past the nerf bar just a little bit:grr: the tree grabbed it spun it around and spit me right off into the trail and then rolled on me  .....bent the bars, broke the clutch lever and bent the axle....I have a sore shoulder but nothing too bad. I have found an axle on E-bay for 75.00 and one on here in the sale section for 60.00 but I need to make sure they can get it to me in time. See ya Sunday!

Bring it on!:p Sounds like it's going to be a fun time. And if we get this rain on Thursday like their talking about, there should be the typical mud holes at Budds. Hopefully we'll be in our new trailer (it's an '01 but new to us), 26' by 8' enclosed Haulmark.:D

Damn Doug it sounds like my weekend......I was chasing Nick around on a little woods track we have and I caught the front wheel on stump. Let's just say a took a short flight over the bars. A new tie rod later, thanks to Nicks brother who had an extra, and I am good to go. Budds will be a good time and I am looking forward to running with all you D-7 guys!

Hey all! I had a blast at Budds on Sunday :D . The first race on the 450r and I was quite surprised and happy. I got a decent holeshot and stayed out of trouble the whole race. Although, I did sort of run out of steam towards the end. Dan, Brian and myself were within 30 seconds of each other the whole race....sometimes as close as 5 seconds:eek: and only a few more seconds from the leader. Bummer to hear about your CDI thingie Eric....and Nick......I hope you are calmed down by now:p . I don't want to sound like a know it all, but I would suggest you try a twist throttle. Years ago, I had the same trouble you did and I eventually switched. It didn't take long to get use to it either! I am in O.K. shape for riding and I rode a KRaptor a couple weekends ago with a thumb throttle and after only a few short minutes, I could barely push the throttle :( .

Is anyone going to Oakland? Does anyone know for sure that they do run the quads first and at what time? It is a slim chance that I will go........ but, if all the planets align correctly and they really do run the quads early enough that I could get home in time to take the camper down to the beach then???????maybe

Hey fellow Maryland riders,

Jeeze I just found this post and I read about 10 pages and then I clicked last and it said 97.:eek2:

So anyone been/going to Tomahawk MX? I ussauly go when I get a ride, or do not have any work to do. Im only 15 so riding at tracks is few and far between for me, but I have been to TMX 2 times so far and I met "pappy" 's brother up there and a bunch of his riding friends. If anyone rode up there on 9/12 let me know cause I probally saw you. I was riding the only black Raptor there, and I had black Hipers. I was also recording and got a wreck of some guy on a black 250R and I gave his friend the tape so he could make copy of it.

Anyways, just saying I had a great time up there and would like to go again, im willing to tag along, or maybe will plan something and I will try to find a ride up there.

Also im wanting to go to Budds creek and The landing MX but how much is it to ride? TMX is only 25 bucks and its from 10 to 5 on weekends. I heard The landing MX is something like 40 bucks to ride.:huh

O ya, I will post some pictures around next tuesday of TMX and riding up there.

Hey no problem on the rear shock, just remind me next week. The 450 ran well at Budds, I got a rough start, I think I need to get a little more agressive on the start. Budds is a fun race, but I like a Hs that is a little more technical and not so wide open. I have a tough time holding it wide open on those trails.

I don't really wanna switch now with all the races coming up. And yeah I've calmed down.:p I apolize for the language and all. I know your family was all right there. I was just looking forward to a good race. I had a decent start and was doing well and then to have my thumb and arm pretty much take me out of the race, was a little frustrating. It's in Neelyton, Pa. ...take PA turnpike to exit 13, 522 North, right 641 East, right Decorum road, 1 mile on left. If I remember correctly, the exit number has been changed recently?????so your map may call it a different exit but you'll see the rt. 522 and Decorum road is very hard to see. It looks like a lane between two houses. Great track, tight woods, lots of rocks and some mud. Make sure you have skids and they are bolted extra tight with lock washers!!!!! Someone else may be able to give you better directions....We leave out of North East and go up through Lancaster, but from Balt. you would go 83 to get to turnpike I think?

Ericthered rdr
09-21-2004, 05:59 AM
Ruthless it is very easy to get there. 83 north to Harrisburg, get on PA turnpike west. Then follow the other directions from there. I should be at the MD/PA line about 6:30 am on 83 I want to try to get there by 8am because my kids are racing too.

Doug you bringing the family for this one too? I might be able to convince my wife to come if she knows other wives are going to be there.

Well, my front shocks are blown, or you could say they are fine, they just like 10 inches of sag in them:D And somhow from getting tangled up on this past sunday i broke a front brake line. Would anyone happen to know if a set of +3 250r brake lines would work with my +3 z400 front end, im pretty sure it will, just want to check. And i also want to take the time to go over the whole quad good, i've managed to find 5 new cracks in the frame and subframe just briefly lookin over it, so i need to get them fixed to. So i figured i would probably just watch this weekend, but you never know, i might go out and play a little out there.

Yeah I have JC to thank for giving me second this year. I was planning on a hard battle for it but, well you know. 3rd is just about in anyone's hands. The guy in third is out, JC is in 4th , Raptor Mike in 5th. One or 2 races could make 3rd place. Budds will be fast this coming weekend especially with it being our 4th weekend in a row for racing.
I can definitly say that I do like seafords track. Alot of jumps but all are pretty safe.

Eric, I will not be bringing the family to FOM. Just me and Ron. Im not in to talking smack....sorry.
Nick, yea that was a good finish for Ron, what really sucks is that he could have finished even better if he didn't stop for gas on lap 2. We thought he was going to do 4 laps and didn't want to chance it on gas. He missed the fourth lap by only a couple minutes due to the pros making such smokin laps! My brother has a brand new clarke 5.5 gal tank for a 400 ex. He had one on his old 400 and it had a leak so he sent it back to clarke and they sent him a brand new one. it has been sitting in our parents garage for months. I'm sure he'll give him a good deal. See you guys at FOTM.

Sounds like the MX boys had some fun this weekend!
I had a good time up at FOM. My boys both got second place trophies but dad came home empty handed. I had a slow first two laps and tried to catch back up the rest of the race and could only finish 4th. That was the rockiest slipperiest course. I can only imagine what my skids look like.

Yeah I heard #5 But I heard you the whole race. That was alot more truthfull than him needing only 1 more lap. 88 said we smoked the whole field. I have never ran that fast around budds. Now looks like the time to start running that fast B class is only 2 races away.

10-05-2004, 05:18 PM
i gotta give both you guys credit(JC and #61) in the first moto you guys walked away from the rest of us, I got scored as 4th inthe first moto, but i could have sworn i passed #88 right before the white flag before the finish line hill. Once again budds bit me though, i guess i kinda fried my CDI box in the second moto, it kept shutting off and leaning out on power. If anyone isnt going to tomahawk, Blue diamond is having the delmarva series there, and we are gonna be racing on the Big dirtbike track( the one we were told a quad could never handle) So i think it would be pretty cool if we could get a good group together a show the little 2 wheel boys up, i know most of you guys are going to the dist 7 race, but like i said anyone who isnt, should definetly come out and play up to blue diamond.

187 did you and 152 practice at seaford this weekend?I didn't get to see P.GREG jump it but i heard it was sick.Thats the downfall of B class you don't get to watch Aclass.I think it would be great to see the top riders in c class battle it out at the end of the year race!!! Your all fast. Jones even showed up at tomahawk he's thinking about coming back to vet class.See ya at buddscreek.

Awesome. They are my new favorite tire. There were a lot of people having trouble on the hills and slick spots in Ohio but I didn't have any problems getting traction.

I know Brian isn't going this weekend but I'm gonna try and talk Dan into going. He's gotta if he wants to stay ahead of Doug.:D

I'm pretty sure we will be going to Oakland. I think I'll be leaving Sat. night and staying in the van. Ron & the pit crew will be leaving Sat. morning and camping out there somewhere. Anyone know of any campgrounds close to the track? Dan, you better show up!! I do my best (i.e. most reckless, out of control) riding trying to stay in front of you.
James, Eric and Nick....you guys have a nice little battle going also!
Anyone have directions to the track? Later!

It would be nice if someone got a pic of it. Cleatus, they didnt change the track, it is still the same short run out of the corner. JC you missed some good racing.

Pappy I'm glad to see you had the hatchet in effect this weekend. You helped to keep it away from tomahawk mx. Only one of our group got the Tomahawk chop this weekend. A broken axel is much better than broken bones. It was nice to come home from tomahawk injury free.

Bring the video to budds i'm sure everybody would like to see that a couple times. Everybody said it was sick looking.Ian was behind and saw it and said it was raw, good job representing fot the quad guys.I think some pictures should be posted of that.

Doug you can camp at the track or at the state parks nearby. I believe that the directions are on the D-7 message board. I won't be going. I think I finished off my shoulder last week puting on my sweatshirt my arm popped out of socket and has been very week since. I am going to let this one heal until Tomahawk. Good luck up there. That is on tight track!

BTW Paul you need to get your head checked.......90 footer:eek2: Next thing we will see you in the H-bomb flics!!!

where was everyone? weather was perfect.....wet from 2 days of rain, 40 degrees and 40 mph winds. I was doing O.K. (top 3)until about half way through the 4th lap...hit one of many trees and broke the left wrist:eek2:. Finished the lap but couldn't do another. George and Micah were there...I think Micah got 1st or 2nd. George got a flat and only finished 2 laps. So, I think Micah wrapped up first for the season and the battle for second will be between George and Dan at Budds. I may be there to watch with Ron which is trying to stay in third in the vet class. I think I'll be out of commision for 6-8 weeks:( . Some time to get more goodies on the "R":D later

Doug that sucks!!! That is one of the reasons I didn't go. It is a tight course and easy to get hurt there. I am nursing a sore shoulder and didn't want to take any chances. Where did you get your wrist fixed? Did you drive all the way home before you went to the hospital? Well good luck with your recovery. I hope it wasn't your dominant hand..... you might get a little lonely:blah:

thanks seatec! hope all is well with you also.
I didn't get it all the way fixed yet.
Yea I drove part of the way and waited till I got close to home to go to the Emerg. room. Of course, the Dr. there just said yes there are broken bones in there. They put a temporary cast thing on it and said to call the orthopedic specialist today to get it fixed right:confused: It feels O.K. but the swelling is looking pretty ugly:grr:

Ahh I understand. I am awfully busy too. Tommy has football, Kacie is in cheerleading, Danny is in soccer, Amanda is on the swim and soon to be ski teams.... so I know how valuable time is. Hey just buy her a quad and and I am sure you will get to go riding one day.

Doug sorry to hear about your wrist and I hope you have a speedy recovery. I had to much going on this weekend and was unable to make it up, but the normal crowd will be at Budds. I need a good race at Budds to try to break into the top 10, I believe Nick has a few points on me. Hey if your right hand works well, we are always looking for someone to run the video camera :D

Catch you later,

JP
