Hey, just found out some of the qualifying spots in the GNC texas round today, they said it is a swamp there right now. But, Gil Attix qualified 4th in pro class, wich is awesome, im hoping for him to pull threw and get a podium, he had a lot of bad luck last year, hopefully he'll stay up top this year.

Ill see if i cant get some pics of it on here tomorrow night, with the makeover, all new fullbores, hood, handguards, bumper, and a bunch of other little add ones, its lookin pretty good i think. Ill be leaving not this wensday but next wensday for the florida GNC race, so im gonna have to find somewheres to get some seat time back on it and break it in this coming weekend.

Shuppe DNF'd the second moto. I think I saw them towing his quad off the track. Track was really hard packed in the main lines and if you got out of line then you would get hung up on the berms. Other than that and the fact that half the track was cut out of the race it was in great shape. Pretty good turnout to.

03-09-2005, 06:40 AM
Why do you figure is it that there a lots of folx doing Xc but only a relative few do MX? I think because MX is more intimidating. Maybe it's only my perception but it seems like more people get hurt in MX racing because some do (because of peer pressure) what they are not ready to do. I for one am a little leary of getting landed on by some rookie who doesnt know what he is doing.
Am i way off with these assumptions.

D-7#61-450r
03-09-2005, 07:28 AM
Sounds like a plan JC.:devious:

Seatec peer pressure is a b@tch. You just race to your limits and you will be fine. as far as being jumped on if your worried about that most guys will already be in front of you if your not jumping, unless your ridding a Hummer.

YLW400
03-09-2005, 08:08 AM
Seatec, the tracks in D-7 are pretty laid back...As far as getting landed on, that's going to be pretty hard to do. You can see over 99% of the jumps in the district..............hold on, I better shut up. I forgot about these other tracks being incorporated into the district...

Am i way off with these assumptions.

There are usually about the same amount of quads that show up for a D-7 mx race that show up for a D-7 xc race. I don't know what a GNC is like but there usually are close to 400 people at a GNCC. As far as getting hurt you can do that anywhere if your riding over your head.

The race was fun but I am in no shape to be out there for 2 1/2 hours.:p My brother got 6th in c 22-28 (37th overall), our buddy Brian got 7th in c 29-34 (65th overall), I ended up 27th in c 22-28. Both the quads and riders made it home safe so all in all it was a good trip. Looking forward to NC.

Andy got 8th in Pro and 9th overall
Mike Kyte got 4th in 4 Stroke A

thanks for the update Nick. Congrats to you all for just being there and finishing. We'll see y'all at N.C. and then at Budds the following day.......right? :D Way to go Dan and Brian, those morning C classes aren't always full of C riders. I think there are alot of B and maybe better riders in there just so they can race the morning and then watch the pros. I'm gonna go check your times on the GNCC site and check out the old man's class and dream that I was there:p.

Yeah I put the new suspension on, but I didn't have time to set it up. I have to play with it a little. It helped a lot but still isn't like Elka. I'm sure once I get it dialed in it will be nice or if I can scrounge up a grand I'll put elka fronts on. So far I have been all right with the thumb throttle. It is a lot easier pull than my 400 was. I didn't have any problems with it yesterday and I was on the gas a lot. (everyone else was just on the gas a lot more:p ) As NC gets closer we'll have to talk and make sure we pit together. And I'm up for hitting Budds on the 3rd. That is the VCHSS race and it usually consists of the flat track and the mx track.

Well, im finallyback from the FLorida GNC race. Wow, it was crazy. By the second practice on friday, it was already like racing on concrete. The track is all lime based dirt, so the hole weekend it was packed, probably would have gotten better traction with TT tires:eek2: At the end of the second practice on friday i had a pretty bad crash, instead of having it in 4th gear on a downhill style double, i somehow had it in fifth and was pinned towards the jump, not until i was in the air did i realyze this. i was also downsloped very badly and couldnt get it back with panic reving. Ended up being smashed down under the quad then rolled a few times. Got some pretty nasty bruises, cuts, and a chipped tooth. but no broken bones. I satout the final practice friday, then on saturday on went out for 4 stroke C, i got last gate pick on the very outside and got pushed out pretty bad on the start, ended up qualifying 8th. In the main on Sunday i got last gate pick agian and accually got out in the tope half, but on the second lap my bike began to overheat for some reason, i was able to baby it threw the race and finish only pushing it on some of the jumps tokeep from being dead last, i believe i ended up 14th in that moto. The weekend was a blast though. Seeing John Natalie pull over a 20 second lead on the class in moto 1 was unreal. Cant wait forthe next national.

Sorry to hear about the KFX being gone.:( You should pick up a nice 4x4. They are awesome for just cruising around and some of the newer ones still have some ***** for when you wanna drop the hammer. Or just wait a few years and then pick up another sport quad. By then there should be some nice new quads out. Anyways, I still hope to see you at some of the races. The kids still going to race?

A streetbike would be sweet but with all the idiot drivers out there a quad would be a lot safer. Good luck with whatever you get. By the way what offset are those hiper fronts? My brother might be interested if they are 4+1.

Anyways we are pulling out for the Nc GNCC race shortly. Should be a good but muddy time. Then we are hitting the Budds HS on Sunday. Monday morning is gonna suck.:p Wish us luck!

Finally made it down to good old Echoconnee about 15hrs later. I couldnt wait to get out there and practice but come figure we got 4 inches of rain today. NO PRACTICE! sucks i know but it looks like tomarrow is going to be much better and the races must go on! Pulling into the pits we got stuck twice with a F350Turbo desil, ( that should give you an idea of how bad it is right now) The track is all sand and everyone says it will be in great shape, i guess well see.

Eric i read your post about quad or street bike, I had a '03 ZX6-R. Street bikes are def. fun and they seem more practicle, much cheaper plus you can ride them everyday. I ended up totaling mine thurday of last week. I was very lucky but what ever you choose make sure your careful, lot of idiots out there.

Any how, i will let you guys know whats going on as long as i can find an internet connection.

my crotch roket days are over!!!!! I had a GSXR750 back in the early 90's. If I get a streetbike it is gonna be a Hog. I am still gonna get a quad but if I do it will most likely be a ute. Who knows I might show up at the next race with a new Suzzie 450 when they come out.;)

All you mx guys would have loved Budds HS Sunday. It was a 20 lap mx race. The woods were "too muddy for quads", so Beasley had us do 20 laps on the mx track.

20 laps?????????????????? I would of died after lap 4 :o

That's the only way I could possibly finish decent at a harescramble. lol I am sure the mx track was in good shape. lol Could you even make it up all the hills?

Actually the track was in great shape. He had bulldozed it in the morning after the rain. They cut out two hills in the back and ran you along the tree line instead. I was pulling 2nd and 3rd gear up all the hills. I would have rather been in the woods, 20 laps on a mx track is kinda boring in my opinion.

hey Nick, Did you read about the weather they had in N.C. on Sat. night? Glad we left when we did huh!
I found some pics of the Budds fiasco on Sunday. (http://www.photoreflect.com/scripts/prsm.dll?EventFrame?event=04DE003Z).
I actually had a good time, of course placing well always helps that :D . We'll have to race a couple of MX's this year just for something different. It was fun running the 20 laps on the MX track...... quite painfull too. Especially, after the GNCC on Saturday. I hurt the worst yesterday evening when I was trying to clean everything up. We had a good time overall for the weekend even with all the rain, wind and mud:D . I was going to ***** about the lack of district 7 support at the Budd's race on their web site, but they don't have a forum anymore (imagine that!). I think the VHSS crew did well with the circumstances they were dealt. The track thing was completely out of their control. We probably aren't going to the S.C. GNCC, so good luck! Good racing with you guys again! Tell Brian I still feel bad about running into him...it was completely unintentional and the side of his axle that broke is not the side I hit

Yeah I was looking for somewhere to ask D-7 why no one showed up. Just goes to show you that D-7 is a joke. I don't even know who are rep. is anymore. Oh well I still had fun.(I'm glad I decided to race.) Glad I was in C class you guys up there in B are ruthless.:p Just kidding man, we were just joking with ya about bumping. Everyone bumps a little. It was just funny how Brian's wheel fell off.:D My brother and I love giving people $hit, so don't take anything we say serious. The next D-7 race is at the end of the month so maybe we'll see ya there.

Well I didn't find anyone in particular to yell at, but I send an email to two people from District 7. I'll see if I get any response. I basically told them the points are wrong on their website, Budds Creek was a "disgrace" (that was the word used) and the points are all messed up b/c VCHSS didn't know how to count to 20. They had lappers ahead of people on the results.

We'll see what happens.
