It was a Honda trifecta as Young, Jayden Hickson, and Mike Bluy were running up the first through third position ahead of Moore who was holding down 4th place. With the mid pack jockeying for spots, Young ran away with the lead up front and locked in first place as the checkered flag flew.

Preston Young went 1-2 earning first overall at MX 101 Round 3 |
Young was now set up perfectly as he lined up on the gate for the Pro-Am moto two and launched off the gate hard once again and snagged another Holeshot and lead. Preston Young then headed out onto the now, much drier course, and started to lay down fast laps ahead of the pack. Unfortunately for Young, he was again being chased down by Travis Moore. Young eventually succumbed to the pressure heading into the switch-back section but held onto second place for the remainder of the 6 lapper. This sealed the deal on Young’s first place overall finish in the Pro-Am class on the weekend and he couldn’t be happier.
“I’m super pumped about this finish! We worked really hard this weekend and played our cards right and were able to come away with the finish we wanted. I’m going to keep this momentum heading into Hurricane for round 4 and go for another strong finish!” said Young after the event.
Motoworks / Fly’s Travis Moore was having another hard fought battle on his hands in the Pro-Am division as he came off the line in the soupy mud for moto one and couldn’t get any closer to the front than a 4th place finish. The track became very traitorous and Moore was not able to make a pass into the latter part of the 6-lapper and had to settle for 4th place for moto one.

Spider Graphix' Travis Moore placed 4-1 earning second overall in the Pro-Am Class |
Moto two rolled to the gate and Moore again would have to battle to the front of the pack. This time however, Moore was on a mission, just as he had been on one for the Pro moto two. This time he cut his losses quickly and moved to the front of the pack within the first few laps and went on to secure the win and solidify his second place overall finish with a 4-1 finish on the day. This allowed Moore to retain his points lead in both of the Pro and the Pro-Am ranks.
