“I’m super happy to be up here with the overall win after racing on such a rough track. I got some really good starts and hung out to claim the overall! My Can-Am ran awesome but we had to make some adjustments to the clutch and the suspension for such rough conditions. Once we had that down we just focused on the races ahead and overall it was a really fun day!,” said Deroy after the event.

#969 Travis Moore placed fourth in NEATV-MX Pro Moto 1 on his Can-Am DS450 ATV |
BRP Can-Am / Wide Open Racing’s #969 Travis Moore was having some issues with his starts in the nasty mud conditions but was still able to come away with a second place overall on the day in the Pro class after going 4-1 in his motos. Moto one for Moore presented him with the toughest battle of all as he came off the gate near the back of the pack and was forced to tread his way through the muddy course towards the front. Moore got around #18 Don Lovell and then set his sights on #94 Justin Chamberland and #927 Mike Skalaski. Chamberland and Skalaski both put up a fight but were both passed by a hard charging Moore who was dead-set on heading towards the front leaders. Moore eventually had to settle for his 4th place finish but came out for redemption in moto two.

FOX Athlete Travis Moore went 4-2 earning second overall at MX 101 |
FOX / Four Werx Carbon’s Travis Moore was on a mission in moto two as he was not happy with his moto one outcome and wanted some redemption. Moore came off the line in a 4th place position and by the time the first lap ticked away he was already up to a 2nd place position and ready to pounce on the front runner Preston Young. Moore made his move just before the finish line section and slipped into the inside of Young heading into a wide banked right-hander. From here, Moore never looked back and cruised on to pull out a sizable lead and take the moto win which put him 4-1 on the day in the Pro class and set him up for a second place podium finish.
If there’s one thing that #172 DASA’s Preston Young is good at, it’s getting on the podium! Young came off the gate in moto one with a mid-pack start but was able to battle his way into a third place position within the first lap and this is where he would remain for the rest of the muddy race. Young was eventually pressured by Moore during the latter portions of the race but was able to hold his own to claim one of the best finishes he’s had so far in the Pro class.
