NEATV-MX - New England ATV Motocross Series

NEATV-MX Racing - Round 1 - Walden MX - ATV Race Report
::Continued::

Jayden Hickson - Honda 450R ATV
#227 Jayden Hickson rounded out the NEATV-MX Round 1 Pro-Am Class Podium placing third overall

Canadian ATV MX racer #227 Jayden Hickson would put his SSi Decals / Elka Suspension Honda TRX450R ATV into the 3rd place spot on the podium in the Pro-Am class for the weekend at Walden MX. Hickson would come off the line in a mid pack start for the first of the two Pro-Am motos and settled into a 4th place ride which he would maintain for the entire race, holding off long-time NEATV-MX racer #99 Mark Gehring.

Hickson’s second moto was much better for the young racer as he would actually tear off the line and grab the Holeshot in front of Travis Moore, Mike Bluy and Tyler Turner. Hickson then did battle with Moore as the pair fought for the lead. Hickson eventually dropped back to second place as he was overtaken by Moore but would keep his second place spot for the remainder of the event. Hickson’s 2nd place ride would net him a very respectable 3rd place overall finish on the Pro-Am podium for the weekend.

Coming away with a top 5 finish in 4th place was the #172 machine of NY native Preston Young. Young charged hard to the front of the pack on both of his motos but would get caught up in the hole shot during the second moto, forcing him to really focus on the task at hand. Nevertheless, Young was able to pull off a 4th place overall finish aboard his FOX Honda TRX450R with a 7-5 set of finishes.

Tyler Turner - Can-Am DS450 ATV
Can-Am / Scott's #28 Tyler Turner placed 5th overall in the Pro-Am Class with a score card of 10-4

Round out the top 5 in the heated Pro-Am division was the #28 of Can-Am / Scott’s Tyler Turner from Pennsylvania. Turner would have a sub par finish in the first moto coming away with a 10th place finish but would turn up the heat a bit and snag a 4th place ride in the second moto giving him 5th place overall for the weekend.

The amateur ranks were heating up as well as they pulled to the line for their motos on Sunday.

4 Stroke A would be the class to watch as young-guns #13 Can-Am mounted Jake Chamberland and #90 Southside Polaris racer Cody Paolella would go bar-to-bar in nearly every corner and put on a show. Paolella would take the first moto of the day and wow the crowd but wouldn’t be able to keep it together at Chamberland would put his nose to the grind stone and chip away at Paolellas glory and take the win in the second moto, giving him the overall win and top podium spot for the day!

In the Women’s class it would be Honda TRX450R racer #124 Kellie Moran taking the overall win after going 1-2 on the day. The New Jersey Native spent the off season racing in the fastest snocross series on the East coast and it showed as she dominated the field in the first moto of the day. #25 Nykoa Williams and #171 Larissa Griffiths would round out the Women’s podium in 2nd and 3rd. The real action would happen as Canadian racer #190 Lacey Hickson would rip the holeshot in moto two and go on for the win. Hickson would finish 9-1 on the day for a 5th place overall and should be one to watch the remainder of the season as her and Moran go head to head going into round 2.

The next round of the fast-paced New England ATV MX Series will head to the beautiful town of Modena, NY on April 27th-28th for the AK Farms MX race which will be our featured stop for round 2. This is one of the NEATV’s newer venues and will be sure to offer exciting racing action as the Pros and Ams go head to head once again!
