NEATV-MX - New England ATV Motocross Series

NEATV-MX Racing - Round 1 - Walden MX - ATV Race Report
::Continued::

“We had to really dial in the Hinson slipper clutch, we didn’t have it right at first but a huge thanks to BCS Performance for helping us out, we were able to get it adjusted correctly and were having better hopes for the second Pro moto of the day,” said Moore after the first race.

Preston Young - Honda 450R ATV Holeeshot
#172 Preston Young once again pulled the Holeshot in Pro Moto 2 with #969 Travis Moore & #25 Jon Glynn nipping at his heels

Moore then came back for the second Pro moto, clearly dialed, as he tore off the line aboard his All Sport Dynamics / FourWerx Carbon Can-Am DS450 ATV and come into the first corner in 2nd place behind #172 Preston Young. Moore then slipped his way past Young within the first lap and came on strong the remainder of the race to stay unscathed and take a commanding win with a nearly 15 second lead. Fortunately for Moore, he’s been in situations like this before, having been a competitive ATV National racer since 2005, with 3 National championships under his belt, Moore was able to maintain his composure and never look back during the race.

“The first race of the year, I definitely had the jitters going, but after I talked to BCS we made some adjustments and the Can-Am was pulling amazingly well. My DWT tires were hooking up awesome on the rocky and rough track and really held together well. Jimmie O’Dell is really pushing us forward and believing in our team this year and I can’t thank them enough. We pushed hard all weekend and I’m super happy to start our season off with a big win heading into round two,” said Moore with a smile.

Mathieu Deroy - Can-Am DS450 ATV
#70 Mathieu Deroy switched to a Can-Am DS450 ATV this year & went 1-3 in the NEATV-MX Pro Class to earn second overall at Walden MX

Making the switch to the Can-Am DS450 this year, #70 Mathieu Deroy felt right at home coming away with a Pro moto one win with commanding fashion. Deroy charged off the line and was within the top 3 out of the Holeshot. He would then quickly move his way past #117 Mike Bluy and #172 Preston Young to take over the lead. Deroy was dialed as he was hitting the jumps in the back section and making time on the rest of the pack behind him. Deroy was able to take his PLX Sport / Elka Suspension DS450 all the way to checkered flag for a moto one win.

“I got a really good Holeshot and was able to move into the lead very quickly. From there I just rode my own race and went on to take the win. My Can-Am was working really good and the Elka Suspension worked perfect as the track got really rough,” said Deroy.

Jon Glynn - Honda 450R ATV
#25 Jon Glynn leads #70 Mathieu Deroy on his Walsh backed Honda 450R ATV. Glynn finished 6th overall in the NEATV-MX Pro Class at Round 1

NAC’S Racing / Ultimate ATV’s Mathieu Deroy, however, would have his work cut out for him in the second Pro moto of the day. Deroy launched off the gate and came into the Holeshot mid-pack behind #25 Walsh Racecraft’s Jon Glynn and #117 Mike Bluy. The racers were all gunning for the top step in the second moto and Deroy would charge hard after the race got settled in. He then made a mistake and dropped back into 7th place but would mount a late charge and get back up to second place before the checkered flag flew.

“The track got super rough and I made a few mistakes that I am really going to be working on for the upcoming rounds. I’m pretty happy with the final results of today and will be training very hard before the next round here in a couple weeks. We are on the new bike this year and I’m getting used to it but I really love it a lot and can’t wait for the rest of the season!,” said Deroy afterward.
