Nac's Racing's #117 Mike Bluy rounded out the NEATV-MX Pro ATV Podium in third on his Honda 450R ATV |
Bringing home a very well deserved 3rd place finish was Honda mounted #117 Mike Bluy. Bluy took an entire year off from racing and returned for the opening round of the NEATV-MX series aboard a fresh Honda TRX450R ATV. The Yoshimura / O’Neil racer came out strong in his first Pro moto of the year for only being on his new ride for roughly a week’s time. Bluy came off the line and was able to snag a second place out of the Holeshot behind Preston Young but then would quickly be passed by Deroy and Moore who were on a mission to the front. Bluy would then put the hammer down and get around Young by the end of the race to seal a 3rd place finish for moto one.
“I honestly had minimal hopes coming out and do really well, being on the Honda for one week, I didn’t know what to expect. We are still working on some things on the ATV setup to really get it dialed and be comfortable on it,” Bluy said.
In the second Pro moto of the day, Bluy didn’t get quite as lucky off the Holeshot and would be stuck mid pack and be forced to battle his way for the entire race. Bluy, however, was able to put his Binghamton Honda TRX450R ATV back into the top 5 with a 4th place finish in moto 2 which would net him a 3rd place overall on the day, a finish he was very happy with for the beginning of the season.
“Consistency is really what I’m trying on this year, it’s my main goal. I was super pumped for the 3rd place finish today and hope to carry these podium finishes on throughout the rest of the year,” said Bluy after the event.

#172 Preston Young grabbed both Pro Holeshots & earned 4th place overall |
#172 Preston Young would have a rough going in the first of the two Pro motos on Sunday but ,would none the less, come out with a 4th place ride on the weekend. Young came out with both holeshots, but would then slip back into 8th place during the first moto. Young then came out better in the second moto for a 3rd place finish. Young’s 8-3 finishes would net him a 4th place overall finish for the day.
#454 Yamaha mounted Noel Cardinal from Quebec, Canada made the trek down to the US to compete in the NEATV-MX series and came away with a respectable 5th place finish overall for the day in the Pro class. Cardinal mounted a strong charge in the first Pro moto with a 4th place finish, but couldn’t quite do the same in the second moto as he came away with a 7th place finish netting him a 5th place overall.
