Man I'm surprised that 400 didn't sell. Wish it was a bit cheaper, closer to Ontario and had a title lol

if your talking about mine it does have a title and how much more cheaper does it need to be..I see stock quads for this price...its not hurting me letting it sitting around

Actually, the last time out I used it 3 times. It is only 11 lbs so not too bad. I imagine I looked a little funny tearing up the MX track at Busco with that thing hanging off the front.

Yeah, I actually really like the hood. Although a black one could be ordered aftermarket real easy if you wanted.

I did it black and red both and then just closed the file... lol... "Do you want to save?"..... NOPE! :tired:

I like all years of the white one, and then the 2012 and 2013... and one dude took a red '08 and got inner fenders off the white bike and made it all black... liked that one too. So I guess I really liked them all except the 08 red that had red inners and black outers.

All in all, probably not a road I want to go down because it will be like my Kawi... I will want all the inner and outer plastic and hood colors.

They are huge lol. They were on it when I bought it. 23 fronts 22 rear I believe. I like it tho its perfect for my rocky *** trails and gives me a lot of clearance, it just lost a lot of its bottom end power now

99 400EX

I am the Original Owner. Still has a stock piston/clutch. All the mods in the pic were done in 2000, havent added or touched anything since.

I was second owner in 2000 of a 1999 that was made in late summer of 98'....all stock, I put DG bumper and nerfs on and White Brothers exhaust and CDI and renthal bars.....look just like yours......now its yellow, and still running strong.

I have been doing quite a bit of reading in the 400 section and came across this thread. The way I see it this is as good a place as any to make an introduction. Bought my bike last winter for 1000 bucks bone stock with very low hours and a title. I absolutely hated the front a arms and bars so I searched out a local guy that builds and works on a lot of 400's. He sold me a set of arms and a set of bars and introduced me to GNCC. Never owned a dirt bike never owned a quad decided to go GNCC racing starting with Snow Shoe. Had a flippin blast and started building a better bike so I could enjoy the ride a bit more. Anyway this is what my bike looked like at Powerline Park this fall where I managed to start in the last row with nearly 300 bikes and somehow make it up around 151 overall.

welcome MaineiacMoose. sounds like you got off to a great start with xc racing. I wish more people around me raced with 400ex's. everybody pretty much has 450s, which gets kinda old racing against.

I had so much fun last season, I cant wait for the racing to start up again. At least you have racing around you man Its a three hour ride from home to any real XC terrain from my place. There are a few motocross tracks around but I'm not interested in jumps I didn't build the bike for that. I like XC for the challenge both physical and mental. I like preparing the machine and I love Practicing and Racing. My goal is to place well in the GNCC Masters Class in two years :)

yep. good luck with the racing. post up some more pics and details of your bike sometime. yea I agree with the fun of prepping the machine for a 2 hr long race, sometimes you can beat other racers simply because they have a small little problem that turns into a dnf. I pass all kinds of guys with built 450s setting off the side of the track because they had some kind of mechanical issue. makes me appreciate my 400 for being easy and reliable to own.

My bike is a simple machine. Engine and exhaust are bone stock. My signature reflects the bulk of the modifications to it. This is my bike as it sits now with practice rims and tires. I'm getting it ready to take it to my top secret testing facilities and try a few different motor set ups to determine what if any modifications I want to do to it while I'm having it powder coated next month.

Just getting back into riding after being out of the game for almost 20 years. Just typing that makes me feel old as all get up. Anyway, decided to pick up this beauty. A buddy at work had her sitting in the garage, bought some parts for it, but never had time. Classic story that we've all heard I'm sure. She's an '04 and it was love at first sight, lol. I've done the graphics and front bumper myself but other than that I got it as she sits. Getting new tires and nerfs hopefully within a week. I've been looking at the Honda Racing nerf bars because of the style and the fact that I still have stock heel guards. No racing, just heavily aggressive redneck trail riding with the occasional safety meeting for this guy.

welcome to the site DJ. not a bad lookin bike you picked up. if loud pipes aint an issue where you ride, look for a slip-on exhaust if you want a little extra bark and bite lol.
