Currently in the process of fixing mine up for a dunes trip to Florence, OR in about a week. I'll try and post pics ASAP of my 400ex. I just finished painting the plastics (black with HOK Limetime green pearl flames, light blue slash striping and some skulls), doing a carbon fiber pattern that I made at work on the tank cover and side panels. Also have to take the cylinder off and replace a gasket since I'm leakin some oil.

for your wish list your better off with a stage one than a stage 2 hotcam with 10 to 1 compression
with a stage 2 you wanna go with a higher than stock compression at least a 12-1 i put it on my stock bore and comp and it wasnt much of a difference tiny more top end but now man is it ballsy

its way better than aetna, the trails are well maintained, there's more trails than you can cover in a day. me and powermadd400ex go riding up there all the time.

well this is mine ive had it for 6 months and never ridin it. as soon as i cranked it for the first time the motor seized. the rod bearing was bad. the motor is done but every little peice is at powder coating and has been there for 3 months!!!!

Custom painted plastics, carbon fiber dipped gas tank cover and side panels, custom upholster seat with flames on the sides. It does pretty decent too! Stomped a piped 660 at boxcar in coos bay. Hotcams stage 1 cam, k&n, full pro circuit exhaust, sparks timing advance key, and a few other goodies. Next winter is a complete tear down for chrome, powder coating, big fin mod, port and polish an edelbrock carb and a few other goodies.

Well, when you are about 6'2 with back problems, the taller stem is a god send. The roost guards are roost guards... they save your hands from eating rocks and thorn bushes. Now, about it " looking weird ( not wierd ). " I would way rather sacrifice the looks of the bike, so i can be more comfortable while riding, which means i win more. So i don't care what it looks like. but i don't think it looks bad at all...

Helps more air flow over the motor to keep them cool, big bore 400s tend to overheat because they are air cooled.
But ya they just look sweet so thats another reason alot of people have them.

Honestly I really like the Lexx pipe. Sounds great and build quality seems to be really good. Seat of the pants says it makes more power but I have no way to prove it. I had one on a previous 400ex and liked it so much I put one on this one. My brother also has one on his DVX and he is very pleased with his as well. I'd say bang for the buck it is hard to beat

nice setup but i HIGHLY recommend losing the Sparks 6 Degree key... thats gonna cause you some major heating problems. I would go with a +3 key or stock.

yeah... there is a guy on here that sells +3 keys... i'll PM a couple guys and ask if they know who. If not i would still go to stock. Unless you are going to run like HIGH octane or something.

yea, right now i run 1/2 93 octane and 1/2 100 airplane fuel, and when i got the money i go 100% race gas

His names Wheelie and he makes them in batches every few months. He might still have some left.

Airplane fuel is a bad thing, it burns differently than regular gas and can cause more issues than its worth.

using the right gas and spal puller fan to cool the oil might help. But I would do a 3 degree key anyways.

Heat is the main reason I left my timing advance alone. if I ever did a key I would ask for a custom 2 degree over anything else. Right now if I add any key, even a 3 degree key I need to run race gas and there is NOWHERE around here to buy it unless I drove 20+ miles and its $$$$

Then I def recommend either dropping the key and getting a cam (stage 1 will bring the torque you have with the key and stage 2 will give more topend and mid gains overall) or swapping to a smaller 3 degree key period.

Run the fan when not moving at speed or when in lower gears. In the summer I tend to run mine alot and it really does help.

Here is my 426ex...Alot of motor work done. and I have my new rear plastic on the back with my new Full system and I will be putting my new front fenders on as soon as I get my Lonestar Stem back from pappy! Than I'll be sendin the roll design's out for pc, Can't wait to see it when Its somplete.

Stupidly, let my neighbor ride it, he forgot he was riding a clutch, and coasts into a tree thinking the clutch was a rear brake. He hasnt came near the quad since.
It's just cosmetic, didnt bend my frame or nothing.

Man pick up some MEAN GREEN or Kal-Gard De-Greaser and clean that thing up... Its an awesome pick just looks like it needs a couple hours of scrubbing with a tooth brush.

I've been at my mom to pick some up, but looks like I'll have to. It's not as dirty as it looks in those pics. The pic shows every spec of dirt. But she does deserve a toothbrush cleaning like i used to give her. Today was the first day i rode in 4 months. I'm thankful that i can ride regardless :)

I never got tired of riding, my wallet just got smaller to where i couldnt pay to fix the 400. Finally i got enough money to pay for 3/4 of the total price and my dad helped out with the rest.
Play riding or not, just being able to open it up today and get that rush was enough to bring a smile to my face, even if it was 40f outside :D

Its about 20-30F here in missouri, and i went out yesterday and hit my little MX track and aired her out... nothings like being sick for three weeks and just going out and hitting a 40 footer first thing. lol but now i sick again... darn allergic reaction to Amoxicillin....

I go riding as much as can, at least once a week (cant ride really around my street like others can). Course with winter coming that probably wont happen, to dang cold to ride around here and snow makes for nice sliding conditions.

Ahh i wish i still had my 40 foot double i made last summer. We had loggers cut tress around our neighbor hood, and they decided to run over my double with their trackhole to get to my neighbors house.
I just got over a sinus infection, so i know how you feel. I can't stay healthy this time of year to save my life.

Yea me and one of my buddies cut the plastic and put the 05 hood on the older plastic. i think it turned out pretty good.

Don't use those 2:3 wheels.... They are not good.... You would be amazed how much better it will handle with extended a-arms as compared to those wheels.

Ive always used 2 fingers to pull levers anyway so it wasnt much of a change. Oh yeah its a big gun exhaust. I hate sparks exhaust, with a fiery passion.....

I like the '08 models now... they look pretty good to me with the headlight off.

I am probably more used to the sharp body lines than the rest of the guys since I have a KFX450R.

A couple guys have made theirs all one color and that looks really good as well.
