#927 Mike Skalaski who competes in the AMA ATV MX Nationals made the trip up to Capeway & came away with an overall win in the 4-Stroke A Class

In the 4-Stroke A Class, Mike Skalaski made his NEATV-MX debut for 2010 for round 8 at Capeway and cleaned out the competition by going 1-4 in his motos. “ The track was pretty tight and really fast but not a lot of room for passing so when I got a bad start in the second moto I had to fight to stay in 4th place with no room to get around Gehring. I’m really happy to be back here in NEATV and I’m looking forward to the rest of the season,” said Skalaski after the race.

Following Skalaski on the podium was Joe Fratus in second going 5-1, Artie Drouin going 4-2, Justin Alger who went 2-5, and Mark Gehring who went 7-3 to round out the top 5.

In the Womens class it was the K&K Honda of Angie Maher who took her first overall win of the 2010 season by defeating current points leader Paige Whipple going 2-1 with Whipple going 1-2.

#4 Sarah Hunt is a brand new racer in the Women's class for 2010 & has been improving ever since the first round, she came away with 7th place at Capeway

Off the start of the first moto, Angie was in the back of the pack and cruised all the way up to 2nd place by the end of the race. Moto two however was a different story as Maher got a good start and made the pass on Whipple to take over the lead halfway through and hold that position all the way to the end of the race.
Amy Thompson rounded out the podium in the Womens class by going 3-3 followed by Larissa Griffiths who went 4-4, Laura Pilotte who went 5-5, Canadian Virginia Blanchet in 6th place going 6-6, Sarah Hunt’s 8-7 finishes would give her 7th place, Jaclyn MacQuarrie in 8th place going 7-8 and Felicia Corcoran in 9th after a DNF in the second moto.

The next round of the New England ATV MX Series heads to Minot, Maine for the Hemonds MX Park which offers up a national-caliber style track with large jumps. Cody Miller will fight to maintain his Pro Championship points lead and Jasmin Plante will fight to maintain his own in the Pro-Am class.
