NE EDT Racing Latrobe ATV Race Report
::Continued::
Close Encounter Whitetails / WISECO / JT Racing’s Chuckie Creech had more pressure, stress, and an overall sense of “unknowingness” heading into this weekend with not one, but both of his race bike’s stolen during the night a few days prior to this weekend’s race. Creech only had a few sets of tires left with wheels to bring along with him. By the graciousness of Brian Ace and Justin Frailey, Creech was handed a ride for the weekend and was told, ”ride it like it was your own,” by his fellow racers and he did just that.

Although Chuckie Creech's race ATVs were stolen just days prior, the ATV community came together and offered him several rides including Brian Ace. Even on a new ride, Creech was able to finish third in the Pro Main
|
Creech made a few adjustments to the setup of the bike and proceeded to put on a great show for the crowd! Creech had first gate pick because he is the current points leader, and was able to get off to a great start in second place behind Houghton heading into the first turn. Creech made a slight bobble in the early part of the racing by missing a gear heading into the option lanes and losing some ground. Creech found himself running in third place behind Ace now and had his work cut out for him. Knowing he would still retain the points leading be remaining in third place, and not wanting to push the loaner bike any harder than he had to, Creech remained calm and put it on the box again at round five in third place to remain the points lead holder. Creech will have a game plan together for the upcoming rounds at Busco Beach later in the month and will surely be pushing for the Pro championship.

Aaron Medlin & Tiffer Bures battled back & fourth for the final spots in the top five. In the end it was Aaron Medlin who finished fourth with Tiffer Bures in fifth
|
Big Dawg Racing’s Aaron Medlin and Tru-Way Racing’s Tiffer Bures were the two contenders to round out the top five in the Pro class during the main event. Despite taking a very serious tumble earlier in the day, Medlin was back on his game for the main event and was able to come away with a fourth place finish keeping Bures off his rear bumper and forcing Bures to round out the top five in fifth place. Bures had a strong run earlier in the day with a heat race win ahead of Houghton who chased him for the entire heat, giving him a great setup for the rest of the evening.
The Pro-Am Main was next up on the gate with fifteen laps slated for the ten racers were made the main event.

MAXXIS Tires / Elka Suspension / Houser Racing’s Chuckie Creech had the loaner Tru-Way Racing bike dialed in for the Pro-Am main event and secured the holeshot after a red-flag restart from the first holeshot. Creech launched into the early lead ahead of Houghton and Bures who trailed closely behind, following his every move.

Chuckie Creech grabbed the holeshot in the Pro-Am Class
|
After sliding around the first turn into the option lanes, Creech continued his assault by staying smooth over the rough course and choosing the appropriate option lane lap-after-lap. With Houghton tight on his rear grab bar, CCR’s Creech surely had his blood pumping for the fifteen lap race as he made sure to hit every apex on the dot in order to keep ahead of Houghton who was right there to capitalize on any mistakes made.
