Josh Creamer makes a successful debut on
his new Suzuki LTR450 Ride for 2010 with
two Moto Wins |
The 2010 Yamaha / ITP Quadcross Series kicked
off this past weekend at Glen Helen Raceway, and
Rockstar / Yoshimura / Makita / Suzuki’s
newest addition, Josh Creamer, dominated both
Pro Production Motos to secure the win followed
by the 2009 Champion, Yamaha’s Dustin Nelson,
and MCR / Maxxis’ Beau Baron rounding out
the Podium. Also, Golden West Cycle’s Jason
Dunkleberger would pull double duty and claim
fourth in Pro Production, but he would sweep both
Motos in the Open Pro class for the win.
Many of the ATV racers arrived at Glen Helen
on Thursday for open practice, so they could dial
in their quads before the busy weekend of racing.
With a new year, typically comes new sponsors
and equipment, and for many this would be their
first chance to ride / race on their new setup.
For Suzuki’s Josh Creamer, it was his first
opportunity to race his new Suzuki LTR450 ride
in preparation for the start of the 2010 AMA ATV
Motocross Nationals set to start in just two weeks
at Mill Creek in Pell City, Alabama.

Josh Creamer has spent most of the winter
at his home in Florida training on a nearly
stock Suzuki LTR450, and only recently did
he fly out to California for some serious
testing with the team in prepartion for
the start of the season, but regardless
of the amount of time, Creamer appears right
at home on the Suzuki (Josh
Creamer Interview)

One exciting new feature on Josh’s Suzuki
is Hinson Racing’s single spring clutch
kit, which utilizes a spring steel washer instead
of an array of coil springs, which has been the
norm for ATV clutches for year. The new Hinson
system provides a much smoother clutch operation,
and Josh Creamer claimed it reduced his lap times
by over 1 second, which can add up over a 20 minute
plus 2 lap moto. This exciting new product is
still in the development stages, but it should
be released to the public in the very near future.

Dustin Nelson had made quite a few changes
to his race program for 2010 with several
new sponsors including, Motoworks, DWT,
Goldspeed, and Elka Suspension. Jay Gobel
(above left) flew in from the East coast
to assist Nelson in setting up his new suspension
along with Jason Dunkleberger & Justin
Noss |
While Josh Creamer was testing out a whole new ride
for 2010, many of the top Pros were testing Elka’s
new proto-type suspension system with Jay Gobel,
and both Dustin Nelson and Justin Noss made the
switch to Elka for 2010. These new shocks were not
badged with the Elka logo, but it was apparent with
the Elka box van on hand along with Jay Gobel working
with the racers throughout the weekend.
