Jason Dunkelberger
Dominate the Open Pro Class at Glen Helen
::Continued::
In the Open Pro Class, Jason Dunkelberger charged
his way to the front both motos early in the race,
and he remained virtually unchallenged for the lead
in both motos as his YFZ450R was handling and performing
better than ever especially compared to last season.
Jason is really excited about his changes in 2010
with CT Racing building his engines and his new
Elka Suspension setup that he tuned with Jay Gobel
for a few days before the race.
Dirt Fiend Racing’s Kody Evans battled
for the Holeshot in both motos, and he clearly
earned the front spot in Moto 2, but he wasn’t
able to hold onto the lead in entire moto with
both Dunkelberger and Kory Ellis making the Pass
in Moto one, but Evans stayed right with Ellis
to the checkered. In the second Moto, Evans was
able to hold onto the second spot with Ellis just
a few seconds back, which earned him second overall
in the class.

Fiend Racing's Kody Evans grabs the Moto
2 Holeshot |
Yoshimura’s Kory Ellis decided to come out
of retirement for a little fun, and he proved that
he still has the speed atleast for a few laps, but
regardless, he held off Evans in the first Moto
to take second in Moto1, but he wasn’t able
to reel in Evans in Moto 2, which left Ellis settling
for a third overall finish.
Keith Tebeau and Dennis Capogni battled both Motos,
but in the end Tebeau secured the 4th spot followed
by Capogni in fifth.
The battles among the top five in both classes
provided for some exciting racing at Glen Helen,
so with everyone having a little more time to
get things dialed in for Round 2 at Arizona Cycle
Park on April 11th, it will be interesting to
see how everything plays out in just under a month.
