Team Cabana Motorsports Takes UTV Win at Heartland Challenge

Team Penland - Can-Am Maverick 1000 SxS / UTV

Team LMI placed top five in a stock Polaris RZR XP 1000 SxS / UTV

The top five was rounded out by a brand new machine; Team LMI consisted of engineers from the Polaris Corporation piloting the new Polaris RZR 1000 XP. They took the stock machine and claimed a top five finish. LMI had a good start and was in eighth in the stock Polaris XP 1000 SxS / UTV at the end of lap one.

They pushed ahead and overtook fifth on lap five. The team dropped back into tenth and eleventh for a few laps, but moved back in sixth on lap seventeen and finally claimed fifth on lap nineteen.

Coastal Racing - Polaris RZR XP 900 SxS / UTV
Scott Kiger, William Yokley, & Shannon Pratt placed top 10 in the SxS Open Class in their Coastal Racing Polaris RZR XP 900 SxS / UTV

The 850 Limited class was won by Team Hicklin Racing; Joe Weissenburger drove while Seth Candee co-piloted the Can-Am Commander 800 SxS. The pair got their Commander off the line in third place and quickly took over the lead. Once in the lead, they never looked back and claimed the checkers by nearly eight minutes. Team Hicklin Racing hails from Des Moines, Iowa and racked up three wins in the Iowa series before taking on the Heartland Challenge.

Team Hicklin Racing's Joe Weissenburger & Seth Candee earned the win in the SxS 850 Limited Class at the 2013 Heartland Challenge SxS / UTV Endurance Race

“We are really excited to get the win. The Commander worked great; we didn’t have any issues and it held together. We love racing in Iowa and are pumped to get the win here,” exclaimed driver, Joe Weissenburger.

Team I Love Hooters claimed second in the 850 Limited class after laying down twenty quick laps. They started the first lap in sixth and continually advanced through the field. They raced several laps in fifth before taking fourth and quickly moving into second.
