Baldwin Motorsports’ Josh Upperman grabbed
the moto one holeshot but came under fire from
Natalie in the second lap.
Upperman was holding him off going into lap three,
but Upperman could not hold off Natalie’s
charge and fell to third, where he rode unchallenged
for the rest of the moto. “I felt good out
there. I got a good start and we’ll see
what happens in moto two, said Upperman after
moto one.

Upperman got off to a great start in moto two
after grabbing the holeshot again, but he was
immediately under pressure from John Natalie.

Upperman fought hard, but Natalie and he connected
during battle and Upperman was forced to back off
or go off the track, allowing Natalie to take the
lead. After his battle with Natalie, Upperman came
under pressure from Chad Wienen and Jeremy Lawson.
Upperman would eventually lose the battle for the
podium and fall to fourth, giving him fourth overall
for the day.
Can-Am mounted Chase Snapp was in mid-pack off
the line, right in front of Joe Byrd. Byrd and
Snapp fought for the entire moto and swapped positions
several times before Snapp made the pass stick
in the final two laps of the race and took the
number five spot all the way to the checkered
flag.

The
battle for the lead wasn't the only intense
battle as #48 Chase Snapp & #7 Joe Byrd
battled back & forth multiple times
in Moto 1 with Snapp edging out Byrd at
the checkered for the 5th spot & a career
best 5th Overall finish for the Pro Rookie |
In moto two, Snapp had to work his way up as
he was in mid pack off the line. Snapp worked
hard and was able to climb into sixth before crossing
the finish line, giving him fifth overall for
the day.
Nick DeNoble was in mid-pack off the start in
moto one, but DeNoble made a good effort and finished
in seventh place. DeNoble had a tougher fight
in moto two as he was near the back of the pack
off the start. DeNoble pushed hard and was able
to work his way up to seventh place before reaching
the checkered flag. His 7-7 finishes put him in
sixth overall for the day.
