- Ballance MX - Pro ATV Race Report
::Continued::
In the second moto, Wienen missed a shift coming
off the start and was in mid-pack, which is not
where he wanted to be if he was to battle it out
with Natalie for the win, but Wienen dug deep
and quickly worked his way through traffic. By
the mid-way point, Wienen had moved into second
and had a five second gap to make up. Wienen kept
on the gas and recorded the fastest lap time of
the race with a time of 01:34.188 in lap ten.
It was that speed that helped him close the gap
on Natalie and battle hard for the final three
laps.

Chad Wienen once again finishes in #13 John
Natalie's shadow in Moto 2 for the second
overall spot after another intense battle
for the win |
Unfortunately for Wienen, he was not able to
make a pass on Natalie and had to settle for the
second spot on the podium. “I’m really
disappointed in myself for missing that shift,
but John and I both did a good job out there and
made it on the podium. I have to thank all of
our fans. It was great hearing them all cheer
as we went by, that really helped to keep the
momentum going,” said Wienen.
Walsh Racecraft’s Jeremy Lawson was in
fourth off the start, but he was unable to hold
off Chad Wienen and fell back to fifth. Lawson
kept his momentum going and made his way past
Devin Heimes and took over fourth place. Lawson
held down fourth all the way to the moto one checkered
flag.

Racecraft's #16 Jeremy Lawson claimed the
final spot on the Podium after making the
pass on Josh Upperman in Moto 2 for the
third spot

For the second moto, Lawson appeared to be on
a mission. A good start helped Lawson to stay
up front and go wheel to wheel with Josh Upperman
to take over third after a heated battle that
went on for several laps. Lawson’s determination
allowed him to finish third in moto two and give
him the final spot on the podium.
“I couldn’t have done it without
my team. We been working hard all week and I’m
glad to be on the podium because of them. I hope
to be up here again next round,” said Lawson.
