Dedication, determination,
and the desire to win, are all driving forces
behind pro GNCC racer Chris Borich’s
successful 2009 season.
Taking the competition by
storm, and finishing in the top five in his
rookie pro year, Borich trained hard and continuously
improved his skills. All of his hard work
finally paid off in 2008, when he caught the
eye of Suzuki and was offered a deal to race
the LTR450 for the 2008 season. After finishing
second in the 2008 season, and still hungry
for a championship, Borich was determined
to come back strong in 2009.
After winning four consecutive
GNCC races right before the summer break,
Rockstar Makita Suzuki’s Chris Borich
appears poised to take his first ever GNCC
Pro championship. We recently had the opportunity
to talk with Chris about the 2009 season,
what he’s been up to during the summer
break, and his quest for the 2009 GNCC Racing
Pro ATV Championship.
ATVRiders.com:
Chris, we all know that you are the current
Pro ATV points leader in the GNCC Series,
but can you tell us a little bit about how
you got started in racing?
Chris Borich:
I used to just ride around at my house on
a dirt bike, and then my dad bought a 250R
and started racing it. I wanted to start competing
with my dad so I got a 250R as well and started
doing some local races.
ATVRiders.com:
Did you win any championships?
Chris Borich:
I won a couple of B class championships in
District Six; then I won A class. It was then
that we found out about the GNCC Series and
I decided I would give that a try.

Chris
Borich earned the #5 GNCC Pro ATV Plate
for 2002 with his Honda / Laeger TRX
250R in his 1st year of Pro GNCC Racing,
and he raced every chance he got regardless
of the weather |
Chris
Borich improved his GNCC ranking each
year, and in 2004, he ran the #2 plate
on the newly released Yamaha YFZ450,
but a few bad races dropped him back
to #3 for 2005 |
ATVRiders.com:
How did your first year at the GNCC Series
go?
Chris
Borich: The first year I only
did a couple of B class races, but I came
back the second year and won the B class championship.
From there I worked up to A class and Pro-am.
After that I turned pro and my first year
in the Pro class, I took fifth.

In
2005, Chris Borich made the switch to
the Honda TRX 450R and reclaimed the
#2 plate, which he has kept for the
past 4 years of racing |
In
2008, Chris Borich signed with Suzuki
to race the LTR450, and he was the only
one in the Pro Class, but he proved
it was a contender by claiming the #2
plate again |
ATVRiders.com:That’s
a pretty good finish for your rookie year.
Chris
Borich: It’s not too
bad. (laughs)
