#2 Doug Eichner - Polaris Outlaw |
Doug Eichner, who had been caught up off the line,
put forth a strong effort and worked his way up
from 10th place to the top 5. “I got a really
bad start. I got caught up in the pile up on the
2nd turn and had a lot of catching up to do,”
said Doug who also fell victim to the rough conditions.
“It was a pretty grueling course. I caught
a tree out there about half way through and flipped
and then on the last lap I guess I wasn’t
concentrating enough and got sideways on the track
and got tossed off,” he said.

Quad Racer |
Beau Baron, who has been doing very well with
his 1st year of quad racing ran pretty consistent
race. Baron came out of the hole in 6th place
and had worked up to 4th. “It was really
a change of pace going through all the trees,”
said the California racer. “I really liked
the motocross section to.” Baron who had
to pit for gas lost a couple of positions when
things didn’t go as quickly as planned in
the pit area. “Things went a little slow
in the pits and it was really frustrating having
to try and work back up again,” he said.
Baron did eventually work his way back up to finish
his day in 5th place.
Mike Machado who had worked his way up to 4th
by mid race fell back to take 6th place. John
Shafe, who was running in 3rd for the first half
of the race dropped off as well, ending his day
in 7th. Motosports.com Brandon Brown went home
with 8th place, with Chad Prull in 9th and Can-Am/Motowork’s
Brandon Smith rounding out the top 10. Tim Shelman,
who was holding 2nd in the points race, ended
his day early when he encountered electrical problems
causing him to DNF and drop back to 8th in points.
