Angela
Butler hasn't missed a beat since switching
to the Polaris Outlaw ATV in the WORCS Series
as she starts off the season with 2 straight
wins |
Angela Butler once again showed she has what
it takes to keep up with the boys by taking 1st
in Women’s A class and earning herself a
spot in Sunday’s Pro-Am race where she once
again finished in the top ten. Fellow women’s
class racer Julie Russell out of Bonsall, CA claimed
2nd place and also qualified for the Pro-Am event
on Sunday. Lynn Prosser of Glendale, AZ took the
final spot on the podium in 3rd place and # 911
Kalyce May, and #333 Kristen M. Matlock rounded
out the top five.
Doug Eichner took his Polaris RZR to the top
of the Podium after an intense battle for the
lead with David Lindsey and Wade Wyman. Wyman
challenged Eichner for several laps before a flat
tire sent him backwards, but Lindsey stayed within
striking distance of Eichner the entire race and
finished right behind Eichner in the 2nd spot
followed by Tyson Coombs.

“I got the holeshot and stayed in front
the whole time. Even though one of the tires went
flat towards the end of the race we still managed
to hold it together and stay out front,”
said Doug Eichner.
Another event that Doug and several other Pro
racers took part in on Saturday was a special
event set up by the WORCS crew. “We took
all the kids (who were racing that weekend) and
went to the Mesquite Go-Cart track at the Oasis
Casino. It was basically a Pro’s vs. Kids
race and the kids who were too little to race
by themselves, got to ride with one of the pro
racers,” Eichner said. Some of the other
pro racers in attendance, in addition to Eichner,
were Josh Frederick, Levi Marana, Brandon Brown,
Tim Shelman, and several others. “It was
really a lot of fun for us and I think the kids
had a great time too!” Doug concluded.
