2014 Terracross Championship
UTV Racing
::Continued::
With RJ out of the running, #23 Mitch Guthrie
Jr. was able to move his way quickly from a mid-pack
start to the front. While Guthrie Jr. was holding
it down the lead, he was joined up front by another
youngster. GORS racer #44 Mickey Thomas who drove
a great race finishing only 3 seconds behind Guthrie
at the finish line.

#23
Mitch Guthrie Jr claimed the Round One Terracross
Championship Win |
ColdCock Whiskey's BC Vaught rounded out the
podium finishing a second behind Thomas for third
 |
#31B
BC Vaught finished in the 3rd spot |
Lonestar Racing's Brandon Sims finished 4th,
Chad Ragland was 5th and Monster Energy's Chris
Burandt held down sixth. Burandt, a Champion snow
cross racer proved the transition from snow to
dirt a reasonable one as he bested many racers
with a ton more experience behind the wheel of
a UTV. Seventh place was veteran ATV racer Jason
Luburgh, who raced nearly the entire race with
his doors flapping open after an early collision
with GBS tire's Wes Miller. Hans Ada drove the
ALBA Racing car to an 8th place finish and Nielsen
Enterprise's Doug Gust was the last finisher in
ninth.

#2
Jeremy McGrath suffered a DNF in the opening
round of Terracross Racing |
Jeremy McGrath, Travis Rasmusson, Daryl Rath,
Cole Cottew, Colten Moore, Wes Miller, and RJ
Anderson all DNF'd the first round of Terracross
at Del Mar. While the Polaris RZR XP1000 cars
are incredibly durable and capable out of the
box, slamming concrete K rails, cartwheeling,
and t-boning each other in hairpin turns will
get the best of them.

All
the Spec Polaris RZR's are maintained by
the Terracross staff of mechanics |
Out of all the cars that were hauled out by forklifts
after incidents, only the one car in the first
practice couldn't be repaired for action in the
next set of moto's. Seeing the kinds of can age
at this event, that says a lot for the quality
and capability of these new Polaris RZR XP1000's.
