Anza, CA (5/7/2013) – Round three of the Yamaha Quad-X took place last weekend at The Ranch in Anza, California. The third round featured an exciting track with a mix of hard pack and soft sections for the racers to navigate. H&M Motorsports / Maxxis Tires’ David Haagsma earned his second win of the season and further gapped his points lead. Sparks Racing’s Beau Baron and Yamaha’s Dustin Nelson rounded out the pro podium.

H&M Motorsports’ David Haagsma earned his second win of the season with 1-1 finishes. Haagsma charged off the gate in the first moto and grabbed the Holeshot. He pushed hard and worked to gap the field; midway through the race he caught a glimpse of a crash and was given the pit board to take it easy.
“It was just me and Beau (Baron) out there. They didn’t want us to get crazy and mess up so he and I just battled to the finish. It was a good race and everything worked flawlessly,” said Haagsma of moto one.

The second moto didn’t go as smooth for Haagsma. He was third off the gate behind Beau Baron and Dustin Nelson. Haagsma had to work hard to get around Nelson, and finally was able to take the inside line on a turn and move into second. He pressed on to challenge Baron and after several failed attempts made the pass stick with just two laps to go. His late charge pass ensured him the win and the overall victory for the round.
“It feels great to have the points lead, I am just hoping for good luck for the rest of the season. I want the championship and will work very hard to get it,” said Haagsma.
