After winning the first moto of the day in
                                    Saturday, Maxxis/H&M Motorsports’
David Haagsma was fired up and ready for round
two on Sunday. Haagsma was second off the
start, behind Baron and after Baron made a
mistake, Haagsma was able to take over the
lead, but he was not alone. “Nelson
caught up and he was right on my grab bar,
but he ended up crashing and fell back, so
I could relax a little,” said Haagsma,
who was able to them cruise to the checkered
flag, taking his second moto win of the weekend.
In the second moto, Haagsma was in third off
the start and followed his teammate, Baron, for
most of the race. Late in the moto, Baron went
wide in a turn and was slowed up allowing Haagsma
to close in. In the final lap, Haagsma took over
the number two spot and took it all the way to
the checkered flag, giving him the overall win
for round two, and tying him in series points
with Dustin Nelson for the lead. “It really
felt great to get an overall win and I’m
really glad our team did so well this weekend.
I’m tied for the points lead and Beau is
in a close third, so it was a good weekend for
us. I have to thank all of our team, Maxxis Tires,
Curtis Sparks and all of our sponsors for helping
us make it to the podium,” said Haagsma.

Fasst Co.'s David Haagsma took the Moto1
win & second in Moto 2 giving him his
first overall win of the 2012 Quad-X ATV
Motocross Racing Season | The number 94 of Dustin Nelson was in third off
the start for the first moto. Nelson stayed close
to the leaders and made his way into second after
Baron went off the track. “I got around
Beau, but he caught right back up and was on my
grab bar. I went a little wide in a turn and got
caught in some soft dirt and came to a dead stop.
I ended up going over the bars, but luckily the
three of us had such a big gap on everyone that
I got back on and still finished in third,”
                                said Nelson.

West Cycle’s Dustin Nelson took third
in Moto 1 after going over the bars when
he got hung up in some soft dirt. Nelson
took the Moto 2 win & finished second
overall | In the second moto, Nelson was third off the
start, but made the pass on Haagsma after Haagsma
went a little wide in a turn. From there, Nelson
chased down Baron and got by three laps later
to take over the lead. Nelson held the lead for
the rest of the moto, taking the win at the checkered
flag, but his 3-1 finish was not enough for the
overall win and he would settle for second on
                                the pro podium.

Beau Baron took three out of four holeshots
with his Curtis Sparks Honda 450R ATV at
Glen Helen | Beau Baron was amazing off the start all weekend
long and took three out of four holeshots for
the weekend. Baron grabbed the round two, moto
one holeshot and was leading, but at the midway
point, he made a mistake and fell back to third,
allowing David Haagsma and Dustin Nelson to get
around him. Baron battled back and was able to
move back into second in the final lap and take
second place at the checkered flag. |
