In the second moto, Haagsma was in tire to tire
with teammate Baron off the start, but Haagsma
would settle for second in the holeshot. Haagsma
eventually made a mistake and fell to fourth.
“I was right there with 2nd and 3rd, but
I couldn’t make a pass, so I ended up with
fourth, which gave me second overall, which I
was pretty happy with,” stated Haagsma.

Honda's Joe Byrd rounded out the Pro podium
in third place at round 1 | Honda mounted Joe Byrd was on hand for the first
round, doing some testing and tuning with his
DASA motors. Byrd was in third off the start,
but fell back to fourth when Dustin Nelson got
by early in the first lap. Byrd stayed in the
number four spot all the way to the checkered
flag. In moto two, Byrd was again in the number four
spot, but worked his way up and was soon shadowing
Dustin Nelson, who had taken over the lead. Byrd
stayed on Nelson’s grab bar, but was not
able to get the momentum needed to make a pass
before reaching the checkered flag and settled
in for second place. Byrd’s 4-2 finishes
gave him the final spot on the pro podium.
Beau Baron looked as if he was enjoying his new
program with the Maxxis/H&M Motorsports team,
and the Sparks motors in his Honda 450R. Baron
was quick off the start in the first moto, taking
second behind his teammate Haagsma. Baron was
immediately under pressure from Dustin Nelson,
however, and battle with him for most of the moto
before making a mistake and falling back to finish
                                in third.

DWT's Beau Baron just missed the pro overall
podium taking third in both motos in round
1 aboard his Honda 450R ATV | In the second moto, Baron nailed the holeshot
and took the early lead, but a mistake sent him
back to third place. “I was right behind
Joe Byrd, but I couldn’t get around him,
so I ended up in third, but I had the holeshot!”
said Baron, who ended his day with fourth overall.
