Modena, NY (10/18/2013) - The season finale of the 2013 NEATV-MX was held at the beautiful high-flying AK Farms MX compound. This was the last race of the series which was slated to have twelve rounds in total but was cut down to ten after two rounds were called because of heavy rains. Ride turn out was one of the highest of the year in the amateur ranks with locals coming to the event as well. All eyes were on the Pro class as Travis Moore and Preston Young were in a heated battle for the points championship heading into this round.

The Pros headed to the line to settle up their score and with only six racers on the gate it was sure to be a cut and dried finish.

DRT / FLY Racing's Preston Young put his DASA powered Honda toward the front of the pack of the start of Pro moto one coming out in third place and quickly advancing to second behind Mathieu Deroy. Young followed Deroy's lead for the majority of the race until he was able to slip by with only a couple of laps remaining.

From there, Young had his hands full with Travis Moore applying pressure and actually getting by Young with a lap left to go. Young then countered Moore's move with a pass in the uphill jump section after Moore bobbled and didn't clear the big uphill booter jump.

For the rest of the moto it was a drag race as the pair tore up the track from berm to berm. On the last corner Young took the inside to defend his line while Moore chose to rail the outside sweeper. This proved to be a conundrum for Young as Moore was able to slingshot around and carry enough speed up the hill to make a pass and actually win the moto, leaving Young in second place.

Young's second place finish in the first moto didn't stop him from obtaining glory on the day however as he came off the line for the second moto with a commanding holeshot which he then held all the way to the end of the eight lap moto for the win and the overall victory for the day.

"The day turned out really good for us with no issues. Kinda bummed I wasn't able to win the overall championship but my hat's off to Moore for that, he rode good all year long and it came right down to the wire!", said Young.
