Fort Plain, NY (8/21/2013) - The sixth round of the New England ATV MX series headed to a track that hasn’t been seen yet in 2013, the Twister Valley MX facility in Fort Plain, New York. The track was very moist and held tons of moisture and was comprised of mostly clay which provided an extremely hard-packed and rough course for the racing action.

Travis Moore solidified his Pro Championship points lead with another first place podium followed by Preston Young in second place and Michael Bluy in third place. While in the Pro-Am class, Preston Young was able to come away with the first place podium spot followed by Bluy in second and NEATV newcomer Tyler Turner in third place.

#969 Travis Moore of Wide Open Racing / BCS Performance / Can-Am was the top dog on the podium for the Pro class but his day did not start out with a win. Pro moto one got off the line and it saw Moore taking a third place position out of the holeshot and quickly moving up into second place after he got around Bluy within the first corner. From here, Moore was forced to chase down Preston Young who was the holeshot winner and front leader. Young and Moore battled for the entire moto with Moore making many pass attempts on the leader but with no avail, being forced to complete the moto in second place.

Pro moto two for Moore was a bit of a different story however as Moore came out of the holeshot with a second place ride and this time he had Honda mounted Mike Bluy in front of him leading the charge. Moore stalked Bluy for a lap and a half and made a solid outside-lined pass for a first place spot heading around a 180 corner and into an uphill double section. From here, Moore put his head down and hammered the throttle to try and get a solid lead. By the end of the next lap, Moore was having to keep his nose clean as Preston Young was running in second place and trying to gain time, vying for a first place position himself and ready to strike if Moore made any mistakes. Fortunately for Moore he finished the race with no mistakes and claimed another top-of-the-podium spot for himself and the team!

“The track really came in solidly towards the end of the day. The track crew was trying to  keep some options opened up for us but it turned one lined and got really rough, which was okay with me ‘cus I just kept getting faster. Young got us pretty good on that first moto but moto two came around and we got a really good start and just hammered down. The DWT tires on my BCS Can-Am were hooking up great and the quad was riding perfectly! I’m happy with this result and be able to back on the box for another round!”, said Moore after the race.

#172 Hearth and Home / Honda’s Preston Young was back on the podium for this round at Twister Valley with a very solid second place finish despite winning the first moto of the Pro class.
