NEATV-MX - New England ATV Motocross Series

Travis Moore Wins Twister Valley NEATV-MX ATV Motocross
::Continued::

Pro-Am was next up on the line and with 2 extra racers on the gate, the action was about to be turned up a notch!

Mike Bluy - Honda 450R ATV
Mike Bluy grabbed the Moto 1 Holeshot at Twister Valley ATV Motocross

FOX Athlete Preston Young had his work cut out for him off the holeshot in Pro-Am moto one with only a 4th place start but his luck quickly changed as the pack headed up and around the last hill-turn before the finish. With Hickson being passed for the lead by Moore, Hickson tried to retake the lead but wound up with himself and Moore in a tangleĀ  heading into one of the slick corners of the track. This allowed Young and Bluy to slip by and head to the front. With Bluy in front of Young and leading the charge, Young had his work laid out in front of him and he was able to make a pass on Bluy a short few seconds later in a turn before the big booter. Young then put his head down and charged the remaining six laps to seal the deal on the moto one win.

Pro-Am Moto two for Young was a hazardous one as well with Jon Hansen being sent careening into his line off the holeshot, which Young luckily escaped as Hansen then slammed into Hickson who was full throttle into the first corner and sent Hickson rag dolling over the bars and into the dirt. Both riders were back on course soon and uninjured. Young then had his work cut out for him once again with Tyler Turning running up front, Buy in second and Moore in third. The trifecta from 2nd to 4th place all were able to slip by Turner within the first few laps which let Young then begin to work on Bluy, who he was able to slide by early on as well. Young was forced to settle for a second place finish on the moto as Moore was up front running away with it, nevertheless Young was still able to hold onto first place overall and take the top spot on the podium.

“These guys were all running really good today especially Tyler Turner, man was he fast! My DASA powered TRX450R was running awesome and tons of power for the big hills and jumps here at Twister! We stayed clean for all of the motos and I’m pretty pumped with the results!”, said Young.

Mike Bluy - Honda 450R ATV

Mike Bluy & Travis Moore battle for position at Twister Valley

Nac’s Racing’s Mike Bluy matched his best performance in the Pro-Am class with a superb second place finish after going 2-3 on the day. Pro-Am moto one saw Bluy take the holeshot but then we would be passed quickly by Hickson heading into the booter jump. Bluy was then passed by Moore but quickly regained the lead as Hickson and Moore got tangled up. From there Bluy began to set a fast pace but made a bobble heading down the back stretch which let Young slip by and take over the lead. Bluy from here cruised on to take a second place finish behind Young at the end of the moto.

Moto two for Binghamton Honda’s Bluy went almost equally as well which saw him taking a third place finish behind Young and Moore. Bluy got off to a great start behind Turner who got the holeshot and then continued to fend off charges from Moore for the remainder of the first lap. Moore eventually got around Bluy along with Young which sent Bluy back to third place which is where he finished the moto in strong fashion resulting in his 2nd place overall for the day!

“This is the first weekend that I’ve been able to be really consistent in both classes and I’m super pumped for that! My Goldspeed tires hooked up great on the rough track and I was in a great mood all weekend thanks to my family and friends who support me during the races, it really helps to keep your mind clear and focused!”, Bluy commented.
