/ Can-Am's Cody Miller Clinches both Pro
& Pro-Am ATV Class Championships |
Minot, Maine - Can-Am/BCS Performance’s
Cody Miller wrapped up both the Pro and Pro-am
championships at the final round of the 2010 New
England ATV Motocross Series but Jasmin Plante
would take the final wins of the season, while
KTM’s Michael Pilotte and Can-Am’s
Joe Haavisto would join him on the podium.
Hemond Motocross Park in Minot, ME was the
hosting facility for the final round of the
2010 season. Rain that had fallen the week prior
left the track nice and tacky with no dust and
had let up just in time for great weather on
race day. The track set up was excellent with
lots of big jumps, a whoops section, and option
lanes offered plenty of opportunities for passing.
Yamaha’s Jasmin Plante seemed to be right
at home on the track and showed he planned on
ending his season on a high note. Plante flew
off the line in the first Pro moto, grabbing
the holeshot and a slight lead. Plante was not
alone however and came under pressure from the
Can-Am’s of Joe Haavisto and Cody Miller,
but Plante was able to keep his cool and hold
his lead all the way to the checkered flag for
the moto one win.

In moto two, Plante once again grabbed the
holeshot and was followed by Miller and Haavisto,
but shortly into the second moto, Plante went
a little too high in the berm and got hung up
allowing Haavisto and Miller to get by and putting
Plante back to third. Plante was able to remount
a charge and take second away from Cody Miller,
but he ran out of time before he could catch
Haavisto.

One win, but Plante
spun-out while leading in Pro Moto 2,
which dropped him back to 3rd place, but
he moved back up to 2nd place by the checkered
flag for the overall win

Plante’s strong 1-2 finishes were enough
to earn him the overall Pro win for the day
and also allowed him to take second in the Pro
points chase. “I am very happy to finish
the season with the win. I am hoping to come
back next year and maybe take the championship,”
said Plante.
