2010 NEATV-MX Pro,
Pro-Am , & Amateur ATV Race Report
::Continued::

The onslaught of new racers to
the series from District 6 for round 7 created
a Pro-Am class that had to be run as a qualifier
for the first motos. Eleven riders were in each
qualifier and battled it out to see who would
take top honoros, only the last place person
in each heat would not advance to the second
Pro-Am moto.
In heat number one it was the
Can-Am of Cody Miller out front and running
away with the lead after he took the holeshot.
Following Miller closely for the first few laps
was KTM mounted Tony Lucarelli, Can-Am’s
Joe Haavisto, Jason Connell, and Mike Pilotte.
Haavisto was able to make the pass and moved
up to 2nd place before the checkered flag flew
on the heat, with Lucarelli in 3rd, Jason Connell
in 4th, and Pilotte in 5th

Cody Miller secured the first Pro-Am
heat holeshot & the win by beating
out teammate Myles Santaniello &
fellow Can-Am racer Joe Haavisto |

Randy Lehr was the lone Honda upfront
being chased down by the two Yamaha
pilots Brown & Plante who would
eventually slip by & go 1-2 respectively |
Heat number two launched off the
line and saw Randy Lehr’s Honda TRX450R
ATV take an early lead and holeshot in front
of both Yamaha racers Jasmin Plante and Thomas
Brown. Polaris racer Bobby Ross chased down
the front runners and was actually able to finish
in 3rd place for his heat after another DNF
set Lehr to the sidelines yet again.
Pat Brown worked his way up and
through the pack around Steve Dibble, Brian
Baragwanath, and Nick Moser to take over 4th
place with Baragwanath rounding out the top
5 for heat two.
The Pro-Am moto two main got off
without a hitch and saw Ultimate ATV/Yamaha’s
Jasmin Plante grab the holeshot but then be
passed quickly by KTM mounted Tony Lucarelli.
Following the front pair was the ever present
Thomas Brown who was looking for his fourth
win of the day, Rich Stambach, Bobby Ross, Pat
Brown, and Jason Connell.

Jasmin
Plante & Tony Lucarelli were in
a battle for the holeshot with Plante
securing it but then being passed by
Lucarelli in the first turn, Lucarelli
would then drop back to 9th place by
race end |
Thomas Brown made short work of
both Plante and Lucarelli as he snuck on the
inside of the option lane turn to make a double
pass and take over the lead. Brown then began
to check out on the field with free sightlines
and no dust in front of him he was able to put
time on the rest of the pack. “ I’ve
never raced an NEATV-MX event before, but I
can attest to how fast the competition is here!
We got good starts in the top 5 each time and
then just worked up from there. The Yamaha was
perfect all weekend with no trouble,”
said Thomas after the event.

Thomas Brown was on fire as he turned
his "practice sessions"into
an all out slug-fest with the track
at Hurricane Hills securing 4 moto wins
& 2 overall |

Jasmin Plante faired much better in
his Pro-Am class races going 2-2 in
both motos to secure 2nd place overall
on the day just behind fellow Yamaha
racer Brown |
Jasmin Plante is no stranger to
large jumps and fast technical sections while
out on the race course and he proved that this
weekend as he went 2-2 in the Pro-Am class to
lock down 2nd place overall on the podium.
Cody Miller was able to come back
from a nearly 8th place start to charge his
way up to a 3rd place finish in moto two. Luck
was on Miller’s side for this weekend
and he’s ready to start training harder
as he is adimant about retaking over his points
leads in the Pro and Pro-Am classes.
