Thomas
Brown (far right) was on a mission to
make his way past KTM mounted Pilotte
and fellow Yamaha racer Jasmin Plane &
he did just that as he flew over the jumps
at Hurricane Hills enroute to another
1st place finish |
Local
racer Randy Lehr had his work cut out
for him suffering a DNF in both of his
first Motos of the day in each Pro &
Pro-Am classes but was in the thick of
things finishing 2nd place in Pro moto
2 & 5th in Pro-Am moto 2 |
Michael Pilotte put in what looked like to
the crowds, and myself, as his fastest run of
the season thus far. The fans were on their
feet cheering on the 20 year old Pilotte as
he staved off the advances of his other young
fellow Pro racer, Thomas Brown. Pilotte pushed
his DRT prepped KTM ATV to the limit but eventually
was passed by Brown near the midway part of
the race. Pilotte did not lose sight or hope
though as he continued to pursue the 1st place
runner all the way to the checkered flag.

Michael
Pilotte got another great start in moto
two, but fatigued from an earlier incident
& still recovering from his wrist
injury, dropped back to 6th place but
finished 2nd overall on the day! |
In the Pro moto number two Pilotte used the power from his DRT KTM and scored
another holeshot for himself to lead the field
out on the field but soon came under fire from
Haavisto and Lehr as they were both on a mission
to the front of the pack. Pilotte eventually dropped
back to 6th place in moto two but secured 2nd
place overall on the day! " I got some really
good starts today thanks to my DRT KTM and was
able to soak up the big hits on the track with
my PEP/Walsh suspension as it got a lil' rougher
out there. I was going strong in the motos but
after I got landed on in the Pro-Am race I just
got worn out and I held on as much as I could.
I'm hungry for a win now and will keep training
hard, I'm deffinately looking forward to the next
race at Capeway," said Pilotte after the
contest.
Third Place overall on the day went to BCS/Can-Am’s
Cody Miller as he had two hard-faught motos
under his belt for the day going 6-4. In the
first Pro moto he would get hung up with Can-Am/Motoworks’
Joe Haavisto off the start and was forced to
put in a hard effort to get up to 6th place.

Cody Miller had some bad luck in the first
Pro moto getting hung up in the holeshot
but made his way back up to a 6th place
finish while in the second Pro moto he
bested himself by finishing in 4th place
which gave him 3rd overall on the day
& keeps him in the points chase
|
During moto two he was again running in the
6th place position and then worked his way around
KTM mounted Nate Morrello to take over 5th place
and then was able to sneak by Canadian Yamaha
racer Jasmin Plante to end the moto in 4th place.
“ It was a really fun track with a few
technical sections, which is where I was able
to make a lot of passes. My quad ran great!
BCS was able to find a little more power from
the motor and it felt really strong all day,”
said Miller after the race.
Randy Lehr was able to make his way around
Haavisto during the first laps of the second
Pro race to take over first place and run away
with it until Yamaha backed Thomas Brown charged
up through the pack and put a pass on Lehr in
the final laps of the race. Lehr was able to
hold on for 2nd place in moto two but a DNF
in the first moto would put him back to 11th
overall on the day.

Jasmin Plante went 5-5 on Sunday in the
Pro Class which gave him a 4th place overall
finish, just off the podium |
Jasmin Plante finished in a respectable 4th
place overall on the day going 5-5 in the Pro
motos and continuing his Points chase hopes
while Jason Connell finished in 5th place overall
after going 4-7. Joe Haavisto had some bad luck
in the first moto holeshot but charged back
to a 3rd place finish in moto two and with his
9-3 finishes, he was able to secure 6th overall.
Following the top runner was Nate Morello 3-9,
Steve Dibble 7-12, Myles Santaniello 10-1-,
and Vinny Mofford 8-13 for tenth place overall.
