NE EDT Racing Round
2 Ironcad Race Report
::Continued::
The RATH Racing Pro-lite class saw a new name
on the top of the podium for round two. Hailing
from North Carolina, Damian King is an up-and-coming
young racer and proved he has the speed to get
on the top of the box and took the win at Kinston.
MAXXIS / Houser Racing / FLY Racing’s King
came off the line and snagged the holeshot and
continued on his mission of winning the class
by staying out front and remaining mistake free.

Deister (2nd), Damian King (1st), Sam Jones
(3rd)

King was able to do just that and brought home
his first-ever Pro-lite win of his career along
with a nice holeshot award from Quadified Racing
Engines. Tyler Deister of Matt Schaeffer Motorsports
/ Deister Racing had his best showing yet in the
Pro ranks during the Pro-lite main event, bringing
home a second place finish after getting off the
line just behind King.

Tyler Deister
finished second in the NE-EDT Pro-Lite
Class
|
Deister fended off charges from CJ Robson who
actually took over the spot from Deister but ran
into some issues, giving Deister the room to move
back into second place and remained there for
the rest of the race.
Deister also won the Ironclad Challenge Cup award
after his hard work on the weekend. Third place
was brought home by Earnhardt Racing’s Sam
Jones who had a tough battle for himself as well.
Jones was right in the front of the pack action
for the entire race and sliced his way into third
place by the time the checkered flag flew, giving
him a nice push for the points championship after
round two as well.
The RATH Racing Three-Wheeler Pro-Am Open class
is a new addition this year and sees some of the
fastest trike racers in the country. #227 Kenny
Bullington was able to sneak ahead of #33 Jacob
Hall and snag the Lost Highway Apiary holeshot
award but Hall had other plans in mind for the
remainder of the race. Hall made quick work of
Bullington and put a pass on him for the lead
shortly into the race. With the lead his own,
Hall was able to remain out front even tho #57
Mat Heinz was quickly charging through the pack
to chase him down. Heinz made up ground quickly
but ran out of laps to mount any significant charge
on Hall before the end of the race and had to
settle for second place while #27 Josh Bullington
rounded out the podium in third place.
