Quebec's Bobby
Desjardins just missed putting his Duroy's
KTM on the Podium with a 4th place finish
|
Local Quebec racer, Bobby Desjardins was looking
strong and smooth as he rode a solid race. Desjardins
got a decent start and held off Cody Miller for
a couple of laps before settling into a respectable
fourth place finish.
Can-Am/Motoworks’ Chad Wienen, who was looking
very strong in practice and his heat, was in a solid
second off the start, but he and Jasmin Plante would
connect, sending Plante flying, and slowing Wienen
in the process. Wienen however was quick to recover
from the mishap and was soon challenging his teammate
John Natalie for the lead. The pair of Can-Am’s
were side by side, but once they hit the whoops
section, things went downhill for Wienen.

The 2009 Montreal
SX Champion, Chad Wienen, got stuck on
a hay bale in the main, but he managed
to charge his way back to a 5th place
finish
|
“The track was really tight and narrow and
when John and I got into the whoops section, I went
off the track and got stuck on a hay bale,”
said Wienen, whose off track adventure sent him
back to the number five spot. The incident also
injured Wienen’s wrist, which slowed his progress,
but the number 44 was still able to hang on for
a top five finish.
Greg Gee was locked in a huge battle with Cody
Miller and Richard Pelchat, who were all charging
for the number three spot, but Pelchat would miss
a shift going over a jump that caused Gee to run
into him and go off the track, costing Gee several
positions. Gee came back strong and held on for
a sixth place finish.

Michael Ouellette claimed a 7th place finish
in the Main event ahead of James Bank in
8th place |
Michael Ouellette, who is a regular at the New
England ATV Motocross series was looking good
as he hung on for a seventh place finish, while
James Bank, who finished fifth in heat two, claimed
the number eight spot. Keven Vachon, who claimed
fifth in heat one, put in a solid effort and took
ninth overall, while Michel Caplette would round
out the top ten.

#270 Jason
Connell had a scary wreck off the side
of the tabletop, which was easily 12 feet
high, but luckily he was ok
|
Rookie Pro, Jason Connell, who has been looking
strong all year at the New England ATV Motocross
Series was looking good at Montreal. Connell claimed
fourth in his heat race and was keeping a solid
position in the main until he and Richard Pelchat
crossed lines in the air, which sent Connell falling
down the side of a twelve foot high tabletop jump.
Luckily Connell was not injured, but the same could
not be said for his quad and Connell was forced
to call it a day.
The Montreal Supermotocross is one of the few Supermotocross
events that let quads participate and bring in large
numbers of spectators. These races are held every
Fall in Montreal, Canada.
