WORCS MAXC Racing Round
8 Race Report
::Continued::
Around the same time, Nichols clipped a tree and lost the position again to Gourley and was from that point forward, off the pace and was forced to settle for a second place finish. Regardless of finishing in second place, Nichols still holds the points lead by twenty eight points, a good lead heading into the final two rounds of the series all happening within this month.

Chris Berry Rounded out the MAXC Overall Podium in third. Berry also earned the win in the Open A Class, which was his second win of the season.
|
Elka Suspension / MAXXIS / Thor’s Chris Berry got off to a good start in his Open A row as well and was able to quickly get off to a clean start and begin tracking down the Pro leaders. Berry had his suspension dialed and was fit to battle in the brutal cold and rain and proved that by coming away with a third place overall in the quad race. Berry, with this win, took his second first place finish of the year and is currently the Open A points leader by just three points overall.

MAXC Racing UTV Overall Podium (left to right)
Denny Aubery (3rd), Kyle Chaney (1st),
Brett Wingfield (2nd)
|
The UTV were up next to race, however within the MAXC series, UTV’s traditionally race on Saturday evening after the bike events, this race was a one-day event jam packed with action so the quads ran first and made for an even faster course for the SxS’s.

Kyle Chaney took the holeshot in the UTV Pro Class driving his Can-Am Maverick
|
The green flag flew and it was Turn Key UTV / Can-Am / MAXXIS Tire’s Kyle Chaney with a second holeshot, after the first start was recalled due to course malfunction, and the early lead. Chaney had no issues with pulling another big holeshot ahead of fellow pro race Brett Wingfield, and launched into the woods section of the course at full-speed. The course was fast and flowing with no major uphills, downhills, or big jumps to contend with and it matched Chaney’s style fairly well, allowing him to get out to an early lead and quickly build up his cushion of time. Chaney completed the course lap after lap with no mistakes to go on and take the checkered flag and the overall win for round six, his fifth first-place finish of the season.

Kyle Chaney earned his fifth win of the season at MAXC Round 8
