#2 Doug Eichner charges his way to the front
in Moto One to claim the win on his Polaris
Outlaw 525S |
In the Open Pro class, Doug Eichner was having a
great day at the track, and despite a couple of
issues off the starting line, ran flawlessly. “In
the first moto I started to wheelie off the gate,
so I had to pull in the clutch a little to keep
from flipping over, which cost me the holeshot,”
said Doug. The number 2 Polaris may not have grabbed
the holeshot, but Eichner took over first early
in the first lap and checked out, leaving the rest
of the pack about 15 seconds behind. Eichner grabbed
the first moto win, followed by Chris Riley, who
was running strong, in second and Danny Ragan took
third.
In the second open Pro moto, Eichner once again
had issues coming off the line. “This time
I spun a little off the gate and came off the
line in second, but I was able to take over the
lead after the first couple of corners. I rode
hard for a couple laps and put what I thought
was a good gap between me and everyone else, so
I kind of relaxed a little. Then Roberto Villalobos
caught up to me, so I picked up the pace again,”
Doug concluded.
Doug’s 1-1 finish earned him 1st overall
and increased his points lead to 207 points. Roberto
Villalobos finished in second overall and is currently
in third place of the points race with 179 points,
and Danny Ragan rounded out the top three overall
for the day

#512
Roberto Villalobos finished an impressive
2nd Overall and is currently 3rd in points |
Our
thoughts go out the #1 Darrell Patton and
his family for the lose of his father |
TJ Dietrich, who is currently in second place
in the points race ended his day in 7th place
and will have to work hard at the final round
if he wants to take away the top spot from Eichner
and with only 12 points separating them, he could
very well do just that.
The final round of the 2008 Yamaha ITP Quadcross
series will be held at Glen Helen on November
30th. Even though Dustin Nelson has already secured
the Pro championship, the battle for second place
still rages on. With only six points separating
Brandon Smith, Josh Frederick and Justin Noss,
anything could happen as these three battle it
out for the second and third spots in the points
race
