GNCC SxS Racing - Round 4 -
Race Report
::Continued::
Coastal Racing / Racer Tech’s Sean Bogdan also
secured a solid second place finish in the XC2
Pro Sport class. “The competition is huge out
here. There was a lot of traffic and it was rough,
but it was a great day with our teammate John
Henry taking the win and us following in second;
it was a good day for Coastal,” said Bogdan.

Wicked Bilt / Can-Am’s David Plavi started out
on the tenth row and was holding down fifth with
adjusted time after the first lap. Despite all
the dust and heavy traffic, Plavi was able to
gain time and quickly moved into third place.
Plavi held his position for three laps and claimed
a third place finish. “We started all the way
back in the tenth row. It was tough starting back
there because of all the dust and traffic, but
we caught up to the XC1 class and just kept a
good pace. I felt comfortable out there, but we
kept getting held up behind other cars and we
ended in third,” said Plavi.

RacerTech’s Joe Krcelich took the early lead
in the XC2 class, but a broken sway bar hampered
his efforts and he had to back off a bit in order
to finish the race. Krcelich stayed the course
and despite the issue, he was still able to take
a fourth place finish to maintain the SxS XC2
class points lead. “We had the lead and were running
strong for a couple of laps and then we noticed
we had an issue. We just went into salvage mode
and backed off a bit so we could make sure to
finish the race and get as many points as possible.
We found out later it was a broken sway bar, but
we still had a decent finish and we are pretty
happy with that,” said Krcelich.

The SxS XC3 class saw Denise Wilkinson lead from
start to finish and take the win by over two minutes
ahead of second place Andrew Evetts.
It was good to see Jesi Stracham back in action
as co-pilot with Dan McConnaughey in the XC3 Lites
class. Stracham was paralyzed a couple months
ago in a street bike accident, but she isn't letting
her injury stop her from living life, and she
plans on racing a Polaris ACE at the Mountaineer
round. “It was great getting back out on the track.
It was rough, but it felt good to be back out
there and I can’t thank Dan enough for letting
me co-pilot with him. It was like therapy and
I am really looking forward to racing myself.
RacerTech is building me a custom Polaris Ace
with hand controls, so I will be coming back home!”
said Stracham.

Can-Am’s Richard Travalena claimed his first
win of the season in the Amateur Limited class.
Travalena led from start to finish and claimed
the win by over four minutes. Brent Kennedy was
second off the start and held his position all
the way to the checkered flag for a second place
finish, while Vicki Fowler rounded out the top
three.
