"The Bee"
Harold Goodman Buzzes Around the Track to Victory
The Pro class saw 25 entries and 3 divisions competing to qualify for the 20 rider
main event. Longtime Pro rider Shane Hitt took the holeshot
in the first heat with Frank Batista close behind. Kentucky’s
Trent Powell held the third spot for half of the 6 lap
race until he gave way to North Carolina’s Chuckie
Creech. Hitt held the top spot the entire race followed
by Batista and Creech at the checkered flag.

In the second heat, hometown rider, Mitch Reynolds,
grabbed the holeshot followed by Kentucky’s Chris
Gary and Zac Willett. Reynolds spun around going into
the split lanes on lap 3, while Gary was able to get
around, others bunched up and with Brad Riley coming
out in front followed by Chris Gary and Brad Covington.

The final heat saw “The Bumble Bee”, Harold
Goodman, pull the holeshot in front of Michael Coburn
and Zach Stanley. All three riders held their positions
as they pulled away to the finish line.
In the 20 lap main event, the two rows of 10 riders
each came off the line roaring but it was the buzz of
“The Bumble Bee” out in front. Shane Hitt
and Frank Batista were close behind followed by Brad
Riley and Chuckie Creech. By the third lap Creech had
moved up behind Goodman with Hitt and Batista all pressing
hard.

At the halfway point Goodman was still out front followed
by Creech, Hitt, Batista, and Covington who moved up
3 spots to take the 5th position in front of Riley.
While Goodman began to pull away, Hitt regained the
2nd spot and Covington moved ahead of Batista in lap
18 to 4th.
Goodman never let up and took the checkered flag for
round one. Hitt was second, followed by Creech, Covington,
Batista, Riley, Reynolds, Coburn, Shipman and Ace rounding
out the top ten.
