Pro- Am ATV MAIN RACE REPORT

The Pro-Am class was next up on the gate and it was time to see what these riders had in store. With only 12 entries for this class, the gate was less packed but the action was still burning hot!

Rath / O’neal / Maxxis’ Brad Riley was back in the hot seat for this race as well with Harold Goodman taking the holeshot in front of him. Riley knew what had to be done as he set his crosshairs on Goodman’s rear number plate. Riley was trying to mix and match the lines Goodman was taking, Riley went outside-inside, then inside-outside, trying to get around Goodman and it finally paid off later in the race as Riley was able to slip by and shut the door on Goodman and begin to walk away with a lead. From there, Riley put it in cruise control and stayed clean and precise for the remainder of the fifteen  laps to take his second main event win of the evening.

“It was a good race, we came out second out of the holeshot and we were able to run down Harold and get out front before the checkered flag flew. This put me into second place in the points chase for this class as well and I’m happy to be at the top of the podium for this main event.”, said Riley.

Precision / Houser / Fly’s Harold Goodman had a good thing going for him after taking one of his famous holeshots to lead the pack out onto the technical track. Goodman battled hard with Riley for the majority of the race but near the midway point, Riley was able to slip by him to secure the lead and win. Nevertheless, Goodman’s second place finish in this class as well was good enough to solidly lock him into first place in points and take another Pro-Am National championship for 2013!

“Yeah it feels really good to win this class as well! The competition is a little bit different within this class with a few other guys but Brad, Nathan, and I battled all year and I’m glad we all stayed clean and I was able to come out on top once again!”, said Goodman.

H&H Extreme ATV’s Josh Hibdon was able to make his way to the podium once again on the weekend with a very solid third place finish. Hibdon came off the line in third place and this is where he was destined to stay for the entire race. With a changing track, and being his first year testing the waters in the TT scene, Hibdon has been on fire in the classes he has raced. Hibdon was able to fight off Daniel Chepkauskas who was running in fourth place and eventually with Wolff advancing behind him, Hibdon staked his claim on the podium and didn’t let anyone around him.

“The track was changing as we raced and I tried a fresh set of tires and with the crew keeping the track in really good condition, the quad was super tight and I had to struggle with it for the majority of the race. I felt really good out there myself but the ATV was just fighting me a bit, either way I was able to get a solid holeshot and stay on the front guys until the end and I’m really happy with the result!”, said Hibdon.

DASA / Axis / FOX’s Nathan Wolff and McKinney / Sparks / Hoosier’s Daniel Chepkauskas battled it out for the fourth and fifth spots with Chepkauskas ending up in fifth place after Wolff was able to slide around him toward the latter part of the fifteen lapper. This placed Wolff in third place in the Pro-Am points chase and Chepkauskas in fifth place on the season.
