Brian Ace Wins Pro-Am Batavia Extreme Dirt Track

Pro- Am ATV MAIN RACE REPORT

Pro-Am was next up on the gate and surprisingly had the least attendance out of the three premier classes, but with a few new names and of course two-time defending points leader Harold Goodman in the class, the action was sure to be at a fever pitch for the 15 lap main event!

PEP / Hellbound / Fly’s #338 Brian Ace had the Pro-Am class on lock-down as he came off the line with his throttle pinned to take a commanding holeshot. This position is the one Ace clenched onto for the entire fifteen laps to solidify the top spot on the podium. Ace was pressured the entire time by Josh Hibdon running in second place but he rode his own race and stayed smooth to take the win.

“I had an absolutely blast out there! There’s no other way to put it, we came off the line in perfect sequence and all piled into the first corner and stayed clean from there on out. Hibdon and Goodman and myself were all running neck and neck up front for the entire race, you could’ve thrown a blanket over top of us! My Hoosier tires and PEP suspension were dialed in for the dusty track and I loved every minute of that race. We are looking to be back on the podium again before the weekends out so we’ll see how that goes!”, said Ace.

H&H Extreme ATV / RATH / Fly’s #24 Josh Hibdon was also on the top of his game as he secured his best career finish in the Pro-Am class with a second place podium spot after a hard fought race. Hibdon came off the line with a second place holeshot, barely being edged out by Ace, and then battled and fought off Goodman for the second place spot for all fifteen laps, not a small feet to accomplish. Hibdon stayed true to form and rode a clean race and was very pleased with the results.

“My dad and I run H&H Extreme ATV, we build all of our own motors and It was a nice track to really let the motor shine through with the long stretches and also the big jumps which I enjoyed personally. I was switchin’ tires back and forth all day deciding which ones were working better and the moisture finally came back up out of the ground and my Hoosiers were just the ticket for the track conditions as they hooked up great along with my Walsh components the track was manageable. I’m pumped to be back on the podium for this round and I’m excited for the rest of the weekend.”, said Hibdon.

Houser / Hoosier / Elka’s #708 Harold Goodman made another appearance on the podium in the Pro-Am class as he came off the line with a fourth place start and had his work cut out for him immediately. Goodman found himself trailing Riley, Hibdon and Ace off the start and was forced to make a decisive maneuver early to get to the front quickly. Goodman was able to get lucky after Riley spun out in front of him which allowed him to slide up into third place where he would remain for the rest of the race.

“The track was really one lines for this race and slowly started working its way in. I’m sitting pretty good in the points battle in the Pro-Am class, and now, especially after this one I have a sizable lead heading into the final round tomorrow. I just put my head down and rode my race once I caught up to Hibdon and Ace up front and stayed clean.”, said Goodman.

Maxxis’ Brad Riley made a comeback after his bobble in the back section and make his way back up to 4th place overall with Walsh / PEP’s Michael Coburn rounding out the top 5 after fifteen hard fought laps.
