Youth
ATV Class was filled with young up and coming
talent |
The next race was the Pee Wee 7 under class. There
nine riders lined up on the starting line who’s
ages ranged from 3-7 years young. It was clear from
the start that Nathan Pourner and Chase Moffitt
were going to have a pretty good run at leaving
the rest of the pack in their dust. You could have
thrown a blanket of these two riders at any given
time during this race, they were that close to one
another the whole race. Nathan never faltered and
took the win from wire to wire. Chase did the same
for second. There was quite a race for third and
fourth too. Cash Moseley ran in third for most of
the race but on lap three Lance Miller made the
pass to take third from Cash.
This pass by Lance seemed to spark a competitive
drive in Cash and the next thing we knew Cash
was diving to the inside of the final turn before
scoring to re-take third place. With just a few
more laps remaining they stayed in the same positions
to finish the race. Fifth place went to Timothy
Clark who appeared to be going better and better
with each lap that passed. Sixth place went to
Turner Latham, who was followed by Jaxon Forsyth,
Emma Johnson, and Nevaeh Greene. It was a real
treat watching these young children riding atv’s.

Remember earlier how I was saying the PW 12 class
had been small and this year it had flipped the
other direction, well the Pee Wee 10 under class
has done the same thing but in the other direction.
Normally it has been the largest class in the
Pee Wee Program but today we only saw two riders
on the starting line, Cameron Trimble and Savannah
Howell. Even though there weren’t as many
riders racing as in the other classes they still
both put in a very good race and were very exciting
to watch. Cameron was on a different machine for
this race and it appeared to be running much better
than the one he was riding earlier. Savannah was
riding just a smooth as ever and put together
some very good lap times. Cameron would win the
race with Savannah in second.
The next race was the Saturday Program for the
older riders who would race the main track. The
classes in this program are as follows: Sportsman,
Masters, Lady’s, Mom’s, Youth, and
Utility. The Sportsman class is open to anyone
and is designed as a catch all class for those
riders who can only come out to the track on Saturday
or for those riders who would like to race both
Saturday and Sunday. Josh Hahne jumped off the
line first at the start and pulled open a pretty
good lead by the end of the first lap over Ken
Asklund, Justin Boyer, Anthony Carinci, and Chris
Howell. On the second lap Carinci got by Boyer
and began to set sail for Asklund. Just when it
looked like Hahne was going to have the win in
the bag ole lady bad luck reared her ugly head
and snapped his chain. Ken was happy to take the
point and held on for the win.
