2012 AMA Pro ATV Motocross
Race Season Preview
::Continued::
Travis Moore, who was with Mushin Racing for
the 2011 season, will not be returning to the
team. Moore instead will be racing mostly in the
New England ATV Motocross Series aboard the Southside
Polaris Outlaw 450MX. Moore plans to hit a few
select Nationals and could possibly even be racing
in the Extreme Dirt Track Series. “It’s
about 90% sure I will be racing in New England,
but I will still race Nationals when I can. My
main goal this year is to get back to basics and
just race as much as I can, wherever I can,”
stated Moore.

Ronnie Higgerson remains the only racer
on the Suzuki LTR450 in the Pro class, and
he has been training with Swartfager &
DeNoble at Waldo MX this past winter to
prepare for the season opener in Georgia |
Although there are some departures for this year,
there are a few new faces stepping up to the pro
class. 2011 Pro-am Production champion, Mark Madl
will be lining up at the pro gate as well as Jeffrey
Rastrelli who claimed the Pro-Am Unlimited championship

2011
Pro-Am Production Champion Mark Madl will
be moving up to the Pro Class |
JB
Racing's Jeff Rastrelli will be moving up
to the Pro Ranks for 2012 |
Also, Adam Clark and Jesse Barnes will also racing
in the Pro class for 2012.
|
After
a year break from racing, Walsh Race Craft's
Cody Gibson will be returning to race in
the AMA ATV MX Pro-Am Production & Pro-Am
Unlimited Class |
2012 will also mark the return of Cody Gibson;
however he will not be racing in the pro ranks,
but rather the Pro-am Production and Pro-am Unlimited
classes. Gibson will be riding for Walsh Race
Craft aboard the Suzuki LTR450 in the Production
class, but in the Unlimited class, he will be
trying out Walsh’s new Hybrid Honda CRF450
powered ATV that has been making waves through
the industry and been the topic of many conversations
in the racing community.
No one knows for sure how this season’s
racers will stack up against each other, but once
the gate drops, the built up energy and angst
that leads up to the first round will be released
with the start of what we hope is an incredible
season.
