Hetrick
Racing's #88 Joel Hetrick grabbed the Moto
One Holeshot |
Rookie pro Joel Hetrick was impressive as he
shot off the line, grabbing the moto one holeshot.
Hetrick held off John Natalie for several laps
before falling back to second where he came under
fire from Chad Wienen. Hetrick eventually fell
back to third, where he would keep a comfortable
pace all the way to the checkered flag.

JB
Racing's Joel Hetrick was running in the
4th spot in Moto 2 before he flipped in
the whoops section, which sent him to the
back of the pack and his shot at another
podium finish for the Pro rookie |
In moto two, Hetrick again grabbed the holeshot,
but Chad Wienen was right there to take over the
lead. Hetrick was hanging on in the top three
but wrecked in the whoops, which ended things
early for him.
Mushin Racing’s Travis Moore was looking
good early in the first moto, but ran into mechanical
issues at the midway point and was forced to pull
off the track. Moore came back strong in moto
two and worked his way into the number six spot
before reaching the checkered flag.
Houser Racing’s Harold Goodman flipped
and encountered mechanical issues during the first
moto and had to pull off briefly, but continued
on to take eleventh in moto one. In moto two,
Goodman held on to round out the top ten.
Derek Swartfager held on for 10-11 finishes,
while Jonathon Ven John took a pair of twelfth
place finishes. Adam Clark held on for 13th in
moto one, but crashed hard at the start of moto
two and would finish 14th.
Absent from this round was Steel City winner,
Joe Byrd. The American Honda backed rider crashed
earlier in the week and was out for this round,
but is expected to make a return at round eight.
Racers will get a nice break before heading into
round eighth that is scheduled for July 2nd- 3rd
in Millfield, OH, where Sunday Creek will be the
hosting facility as Chad Wienen and John Natalie
battle it out for the pro points lead.
