Yamaha's
#84 Thomas Brown just missed a spot on the
Podium when Natalie made the pass in Moto
2, which dropped Brown back to a 4th place
finish |
Yamaha/Ballance Racing’s Thomas Brown was
in mid pack off the start and battled it out with
Jeremy Lawson and Nick DeNoble before settling
in for a sixth place finish in the first moto.
In moto two, Brown got off to a good start in
the top five and was looking strong as he was
able to move up to the number two position at
the midway point. Unfortunately for Brown, he
would have to deal with John Natalie and fell
back. Brown briefly regained his position when
Natalie went off the track, but in the final lap,
Natalie made a charge and Brown would fall back
for a third place finish, giving him fourth overall.
“It was a good race. I had a good battle
going on with Natalie in moto two and I am happy
to see the team coming together like this after
having a tough start to the season,” said
Brown.

Baldwin's
#20 Josh Upperman claimed the 5th spot in
both motos to round out the Top 5 Overall |
Baldwin Motorsports’ Josh Upperman was
in third off the line in moto one and came under
fire from Chad Wienen. Upperman held off Wienen
for a couple of laps before Wienen got by. Upperman
was then under fire from Jeremy Lawson and in
the final lap, the heat and humidity got to Upperman
and Lawson was able to make a pass, leaving Upperman
to round out the top five in moto one.
For moto two, Upperman was in second off the
start, but fell back to third in the first lap
when Chad Wienen got around him. Upperman would
also fall back when Thomas Brown and Jeremy Lawson
challenged for position, giving Upperman fifth
in moto two and fifth overall. “The track
was really rough out there so I am happy to finish
in the top five. I am going to go home and do
some more training and hopefully do better at
the next round,” stated Upperman.

Motosport's Nick DeNoble found himself in
heated battles both motos as DeNoble went
on to finish in 6th Overall |
Nick DeNoble was doing well off the start in
fourth place, but was under attack from Chad Wienen
almost immediately. DeNoble was doing well holding
off the number 44 Can-Am, but then his quad started
smoking and DeNoble had to back down a bit, but
still managed to take seventh place in moto one.
In moto two, DeNoble was in mid pack off the start
and settled in for a seventh place finish, giving
him sixth overall for the day.
Devin Heimes held on for 9-8 finishes and took
his best overall finish so far this season in
seventh place.
Can-Am’s Chase Snapp looked a little off
his normal pace in moto one. Snapp was in sixth
off the line, but got hung up and stalled his
machine, putting him toward the back of the pack.
Soon after, Snapp would get hung up again. “I
was behind Harold Goodman and he flipped and I
got stuck behind him,” said Snapp. Snapp
would work his way up to eighth place before reaching
the checkered flag.
In moto two, Snapp stalled in the first corner
and had a tough time trying to restart his quad.
“The track was really rough and I was just
trying to stay smooth and not wreck,” said
Snapp who would end his day with 8-9 finishes.
