Can-Am's
#13 JohnNatalie Jr charged his way into
the the lead in Moto One to claim the win
over Chad Wienen |
Can-Am/Motoworks’ John Natalie took the
moto one win after an all-out war with teammate
Chad Wienen. Natalie was in second off the start
behind Joel Hetrick. Natalie pressured the young
rookie for several laps and got by for the lead,
but Wienen followed suit and was soon right on
Natalie’s grab bar. Natalie and Wienen pulled
away with Wienen applying pressure the entire
moto, but the veteran number 13 was able to hold
Wienen off for the win.
“I got off the line good and passed Joel.
Chad was right on me for a while and I was a little
faster in the whoops and I was able to hold him
off like that for the rest of the moto,”
Natalie explained.
For moto two, Natalie had his work cut out for
him as he was in fifth off the start. Natalie
quickly moved up past Joel Hetrick and was challenging
Thomas Brown for second. Natalie got around Brown,
but then lost his front brakes and blew the berm,
allowing Brown and Hetrick to get back by him.
Natalie charged hard and got by Hetrick after
Hetrick crashed. Natalie then closed in on Thomas
Brown and made his move in the final half of the
last lap to take over second place and take second
place on the podium.

DWT's
#13 John Natalie Jr got off to a 5th place
start in Moto 2 while #44 Chad Wienen ran
away from the pack, Natalie was battling
his way into the 2nd spot when he made the
pass on Yamaha's #84 Thomas Brown in the
final laps of the race |
“I just passed for second and I accidentally
hit neutral and launched sideways off the jump.
I got back around Joel and caught Thomas and caught
him going up the step up. We had some great racing
out there today and I am really glad to be up
on the podium again,” said Natalie.

Walsh's
#16 Jeremy Lawson was on the move in Moto
1 as he charged his way from 8th place to
a 4th place finish right behind #20 Josh
Upperman |
Walsh Race Craft’s Jeremy Lawson charged
his way up from an eighth place start in moto
one to claim a fourth place finish. Lawson made
his way past several racers and caught up to Thomas
Brown. After a long battle, Lawson made the pass
into the number five position. From there, Lawson
battled it out with Josh Upperman and took the
number four spot in the final lap before crossing
the finish line.
Lawson made an incredible charge in moto two.
Lawson was just within the top ten off the start
and worked his way up past Nick DeNoble, Travis
Moore and Devin Heimes before battling it out
with Josh Upperman. Lawson Pressured Upperman
for several laps before he was able to move into
the number four spot, giving him third overall
on the pro podium.
“I wish I could have gotten better starts,
but I worked my way up in both motos and I’m
just glad to be on the podium again. Our goal
is to be consistent, and I think we’re doing
a good job of that so far,” said Lawson.
