Hurricane, UT - Sand Hollow State
Park offers some of the best and most diverse terrain
open to OHV riding in the United States. The Sand
Hallow Off-Road park sits on over 16,000 acres of
land in beautiful Hurricane, Utah.
On a recent trip out to Sand Hollow State Park, ATVriders.com with the help of Dax Snow and Fasst Co., had the opportunity to explore the upper plateau of Sand Hollow State Park. After having such a great time playing in the coral pink sand dunes, we for fortunate enough to come back the next day to explore the lower half of Sand Hollow State Park.
Sand Hollow State Park is split geographically between the upper riding area that consists of largely of sand dunes and rock climbs and the lower riding area that runs through the valley and out into the desert.

The lower area of Sand Hollow features breathtaking views of red sandstone cliffs |
For day two of our trip, Dax Snow once again lent us a customized Kawasaki Teryx 750 SxS / UTV and a Yamaha Rhino 700 SxS / UTV to explore the Sand Hallow State Park OHV Area valley floor.

We
started our second day of riding at Fasst
Co. in Hurricane, Utah |
As morning came, we made our way over the Fasst Co. facility where we stored the Side-by-Sides over night. We loaded up the two SxS / UTVs with our camera equipment and water bottles hit the road. After a short drive, we entered Sand Hallow State Park.
As soon as we entered the park, we made a sharp right turn into the valley before the tall hill that runs along the Sand Hallow State Park Golf course. This area features many picturesque views of tall cliffs on each side of the valley that eventually led out to the desert. The trail varies in elevation and takes riders over many hills and through several deep sand washes.

The
Sand Hollow State Park OHV area in the
valley offers yet another type of terrain that features
sand washes, berms and high speed desert
sections |
Some of the sand washes have natural berms that make rounding corners very entertaining. There are also several tall sand dunes along the trail that you sling some sand around. Some of the dunes in the valley are so tall that we had troubles climbing them in the SxS / UTVs.
