Marc Spataro's
Moto Pro Training Women’s ATV Fitness Challenge
::Continued::
Looks of surprise were expressed when they saw
Coach Marc and Emily carry out a selection of
sledgehammers and placed them in front of a huge
tractor tire laying on its side. The ladies were
instructed on how to swing the oversized hammers
using both dominant and non-dominant sides to
make impact with the tire. Once they got the hang
of it 20 swings for three sets were completed.
Most walked away with smiles experiencing the
fun and satisfaction of hitting the tire with
full force.
Coach Marc is the inventor of a piece of equipment
called the Core Bar (www.corebar.com)
so the event included several tasks using this
device. The ladies experienced reciprocal movements,
pushing and pulling the bar while attached to
a resistance band. They also trained balance and
stability muscles by using the Core Bar during
an opposing side weighted lunge. All accomplished
three sets of 20.
The last physical challenge involved a 45 lb.
weighted vest. The athletes were instructed by
trainer Emily on how to perform a plyometric hop
on to a 24-inch box. Each participant completed
10 hops three times. As an additional challenge
a 32 inch box was brought out and Rosie and Kelly
stepped up to the challenge a sprung up on to
the intimidating box.
The camp ended with a lecture on good nutritional
habitats and a question and answering session.
Topics covered included supplements, length of
training sessions and beneficial exercises for
racing.
Marc and Emily offered all the racers a chance
to have their body compositions taken and finished
by handing out t-shirts and manuals. Moto Pro
Training would like to thank all the participants
and encourage any one interested in attending
the next to do so they are a great time and you
will learn lots of valuable information.
