in Florida at PAX motocross track |
Florida (2/1/2010) - When winter
sets in and snow and cold have an icy grip on much
of the country, many racers head south for the winter
to train. One of the most popular destinations is
the Sunshine state where several racers, including
2009 GNCC Pro ATV Champion, Chris Borich lives in
the winter months.
ATVRiders.com was recently invited down to Chris
Borich’s in Florida to hang out with Borich
and fellow Pro GNCC racers, Adam McGill, Jarrod
McClure, and Johnny Gallagher for a few days.
While they are all competitors on the track, they
all agree that training with each other helps
them, as their competitive spirits keep them pushing
each other and themselves.
In addition to training on the trails, they also
have been spending a lot of time cross training
on the motocross track as well to help them keep
that competitive edge. Their camaraderie also
gave us the opportunity to catch up with them
all for some great photos and to see how things
are shaping up for these guys as the 2010 season
quickly approaches.

Chris Borich - Yoshimura / Suzuki LTR450 ATV |
Chris Borich will be returning to the GNCC series
aboard the Suzuki LTR450 to defend his current
championship status. Borich’s biggest sponsors
for 2010 include Yoshimura, Fox Shox, Walsh Racecraft,
DWT and Maxxis Tires. “I’m also still
talking with Suzuki as far as support for next
year, but no matter what, I will be on the LTR,”
said Borich.
While many racers take some time off at the end
of the season, that wasn’t so much the case
for Borich. “I came down to Florida almost
right after the 2009 season ended. At that point
I really felt like I was on top of my game and
I didn’t want to loose that edge, so I only
took a little over a week off and kept training.
I flew home for the holidays, and them came right
back down here so I could keep pushing,”
he stated.
Although Borich is almost unstoppable in the
woods, he devotes a lot of time to training on
the motocross track while in Florida. “I
can train on the trails any time at my house back
in PA, but I really like motocross; plus it’s
a great work out. It helps with your cardio and
endurance to just go wide open for 20-30 minutes
and it’s great for testing out your equipment,”
said Borich.

Borich’s main goal for the coming season
is obvious, but a challenging one never the less.
“I really want to win the championship again
and make it two in a row. I want to stay on top,”
he said.
Borich has a solid program in place and with
his drive and determination to be the best; his
chances of taking the championship again are looking
good
