Blingstar's
Shawn Hess American Chopper TV Show Experience
::Continued::
This was my first experience with “show
business”, and I must say there is a lot
that goes into putting together a show like this.
There were people running around all over. Camera
men had assistants whose assistants had assistants,
the producer did a great job making sure that
everything went as smooth as possible with very
little retakes, and his assistant helped make
this possible while still having time to due the
makeup.

It is unreal
how much work going into filming a TV
show like American Chopper - you don't
realize what all goes on behind the season
until you are there in person
|
 |
The
American Chopper TV Film Crew consisted
of 3 camera men all of which had assistants
and sound techs |
We had three camera men who were followed around
by two sound guys who also carried spare batteries
for all of the high tech cameras. The entire filming
seemed like chaos! When the producer arrived at
the track he had some guide lines that he roughly
wanted to make sure happened in the show, but for
the most part it was all by the seat of our pants.
The director would quickly adapt to change to keep
the show on course. We were even delayed and extra
day of filming since the actual building of the
quad ran long and the weather decided it didn't
want to cooperate.
In the end it all came together
nicely. It’s amazing to see how the show
turned out knowing first hand how much work went
into the show. The funny thing is that you have
know idea how it is going to look until it airs.
It was a very neat experience that I’m glad
I got to be a part of.

When we finished I had a chance to speak with
Jr. about the possibility of any future projects
in the off- road industry and he did express interest.
Who knows what the road or should I say trail
might hold with Paul Jr.Designs and the off road
community.
