no it was kinda a race team we thought of making. the first moto there was mud at the bottom of the lip so i went off sideways, fliped and fell in the drainage ditch with the quad on me.
The way me and some other guys ride is stucking fupid

I thought the consessions stand at Chats was pretty decent. Unless you're barbequing ribs, or something special, I'd suggest you leave the BBQ home and trade in the cooking and cleaning time for more riding. The prices were surprisingly reasonable too,.

i hopefully will be there a few times during the winter. its about a 2 hour drive for me but its the only place to ride. im not doing a rebuild either so i just want to try and ride if its not too cold out. im not sure how many people ride in the winter, but i heard its really crowded when its nice out. so hopefully there wont be any crowds and it will be mostly empty. if it snows im definatly not going and i doubt many other people will. traveling in bad weather is a hassle, especially for people coming from far away. most people ride around home when theres alot of snow so they probably wouldnt drive to a place that looks the same as in front of their house covered in snow lol.

Hey, well today didnt go good at all for me. Didnt even make one full lap out there. The track was in very good shape, and changed up from last weekend. I had my throttle stick wide open before the back two table tops, that was a fun ride, but luckily i was fine. Fixed that issue to go back out and have the quad shut off about 1/2 lap in, i believe my petcock is bad. But after having that happen, i said someone really doesnt want me riding today.......:D so i packed up and came home. Ill prob be out there tomorrow if i can get everything fixed up.
Crazy lil punk, the yz426 is actually my other Walsh quad i had before the walsh yz450. Its def a whole different pace getting used to the 426 again for practice, dont have any seat time on it really at all, but ill get there:devil:
Hopefully ill see you guys tomorrow so we can rip it up out there.

Maybe if we get some more nice weather in a couple weeks ill ride again, but as of now the winter rebuild is prob getting ready to start here.

Hey, that sucks about the axle, but hey, a little bent axle doesnt hurt anything, adds character in my book:D
Being that they are diggin the sand out of the bac half of the track, the rocks did get turned up pretty bad, but the way it ran today we had it miss the bad rocky sections for the most part, i thought it was pretty nice. With upciming weather changes, and more digging, it prob woulnt get better than it was today. But, just give it a little time over winter, it should be worth the wait when better riding weather comes around and winter passes:devil: We just need to keep up a good quad turnout and get some more quads in the area.

So we decided to ride chats (NJORVP) yesterday, weather was 65, breezy, sunny. The conditions were sloppy as it had rained a lot the night before.
OK here is the story-
The tracks were all closed all day leaving only the trails open. The trails close at 3:30 the park closes at 4:30.
At about 3:50 we started loading our quads and gear. There were five of us. Myself-38, my best friend 40, his 3 kids all under 14. That's five quads, five sets of gear, plus all the miscellaneous.
At 4:05 the staff comes to our parking spot and tells us we have to leave and now! It was obvious we had already begun packing up so I asked him what the big rush was. He said the park closes at 3:30 and we needed to leave now. At no point were we told that the park closes at 3:30. Only the trails close at 3:30. Were we supposed to ride off the trail onto the trailer and bolt with our gear on? Anyway, another PP (parking lot police) person comes along and asks my friend for his membership cards. They have family season passes for the last 2 seasons. It seems as though the PP's wanted to mark or note that we were violating the rules in some way and called the sign in office to give them the info.
We were then asked (4:15) to load all our remaining riding gear on the truck and finish packing and changing in the driveway outside the park gates. Which we did after some bickering about the time the park closes, and that my friend holds seaon passes, and that we were obviously mostly done anyway. Had they not interupted and harrassed us to leave, we would have left with smiles on our faces and been gone right at 4:30 when the park closes.
(4:22) On the way out, the heavy set blond girl who works in the sign in booth is burning us the look on the way past. I looked on the sign board as we drove by and posted right there is the park hours that state "closes at 4:30". So we stop outside the gate to re-sort all the gear and finish packing. When the staff comes down behind us to lock up we said that we were very disappointed in how we were treated and that we had no idea that the park closed at 3:30 etc etc and we were told ( by the blond) that we were being rude by not being out of the park at 3:30 and tough sh*t about packing up in the driveway. She also said it shouldn't take us more than 15 minutes to pack and leave. 5 Riders 5 quads 5 sets of gear 15 minutes? Come on!
So in conclusion, I will NEVER go there again. I couldn't believe the lack of kindness, professionalism and downright rudeness of the staff. I completely understand that there aren't many places to ride left and that they have us by the ba*ls in some respect, but that doesn't justify treating paying customers like dirt, especially someone who holds a season pass for numerous years. Even if we were unaware of the closing time, we should not have been made to dress ourselves and our children in the driveway. I plan on making every effort to bring this to everyone's attention. I think the park should definitely stay open, but I am calling for an immediate change in staff or management, because the people they have suck, and it is ruining a basically good facility.
I know there will be some flames on this, but the way we were treated was unnecessary and unjustified and I want people to know that this is what they may encounter at Chattsworth the NJORVP.

I was never treated like that, they left the track longer when I was there and never rushed me out, but also, this is the weekdays. I was the only person on the atv track(only atv there), I aksed them to turn the sprinklers off, they did. I don't know, I have been going there since 02, everybody is very nice to me.
The place has been going down-hill in the past 2 years, the track has gone from somewhat decent to better and now its the absolute pitts. They seam to close early days that are slow, I think its because it costs moeny to keep it open and if a few are there, its a waste of money. Not right, but it is. I was at a meeting where I spoke about the atv track and how bad is was, it improved for a few months, but got back crappy again, at that meeting they talked about closing the place tues-thurs duirng the winter months as it costs too much to keep it open, verses how many show up.
It was not fair how you were treated, I know that the trails close about 45 minutes beore the park and the tracks 30 minutes. They should stick to the posted hours, not make up their own.

Thanks for the support and feedback.
I sent an e-mail to the park director about this and I'm waiting on a respose. It sounds like they need a serious changing of the guard at that place.
We were really disappointed about all of the tracks being closed and staying closed. I walked around the entire atv track and it was mostly dry. And it was breezy and sunny to help dry it out if we did mush it up. I asked the personell about this and was told the dozer operator doesn't like to grade the tracks when it's muddy.
My opinion = let us ride the track, muddy it up and on Monday (when no one is around) grade the track. It was definately ridable. Oh well - lesson learned!

the track was barley rideable today, everyone was sinking their quad in the back turn, and i pretty much drug my swingarm through the whole track, i cant imagine how bad it was saterday. i dont ever have a problem at the track, but how you were treated was totally uncool.

Wow Rich, Thats a pretty crazy story. I'd like to say that I can't believe how badly you were treated, but I'm well aware of how some tracks treat their riders. I was always amazed when signing up for a race how moody and irritable some of the staff would seem. Its like man were all here suppose to be doing something we love and enjoy, racing and riding is our vacation!! We don't deserve or need to put up with rude staff. You wouldn't put up with a rude waiter at a restuarant, or mean staff at a hotel. If these people don't like what they are doing - get another freakin Job. There are plenty of friendly people wanting to work at a place they love and enjoy. Shame on the staff and the owners of Chatsworth. I know there's not many parks in NJ to choose from, but your doing the right thing by not supporting them. If Blue Diamond and Atco care more about their riders then they are the parks to ride and support.

Hammer,
Thanks for your interest in the Breezewood Proving Grounds. We are located in South Central PA, we are 12 miles from the Breezewood Exit on the PA Turnpike. I would use mapquest to get to breezewood then follow our directions on the website to get from Breezewood to the Park.
If using Gps our co-ordinates at the gate are: N39degrees 52.804
w078degrees 18.041
I hope that helps. For anyone wanting to make a two or 3 day trip we have killer cabin rentals at the park, and breezewood is known as the town of motels and hotels.
I look forward to riding with everyone!! Our website is www.breezewoodprovinggrounds.com and our info line is (814) 748-3605.

Mr. Baker,
I apologize for the delay as I was away on vacation for a couple of weeks. I reviewed it. If it were handled on your part in an adult manner for example writing me after leaving the park (without the foul language and abuse of the staff). I would have agreed you had until 4:30 and discussed it with all involved (Which I have) and discussed a resolution for inconvenience. The way you chose to handle it with the foul language and abuse of our staff as well as in the presence of children was unfortunate. With all that has occurred including these posts I tend to agree with the manager that at this point your not welcome at the park. if your friend wishes to have his memberships re-instated he will need to attend the February membership meeting. It is really unfortunate to have allowed this minor disagreement to explode in to this. I am sure this is not how you want your customers to handle disputes at your place of employment (using and abusing you and your fellow employees). I really wish you had just kept the foul language to yourself so I would be offering you some freebie now, instead of what is currently occurring. You did neglect state they did not even yell at your group for the disregard of the rules by riding and doing donuts in the parking lot prior to loading up (without any safety gear as well). I am sorry that this could not have been worked out in an amicable manner. If you wish to discuss this person to person feel free to email your number and I'll give you a call.
Sincerely,
Dennis Farmer

Mr. Farmer,
Here is the text from my initial letter copied and pasted from below:
“Mr. Farmer,
After our visit to your park yesterday, here is my feedback. My screen name is YFZRB.
http://www.exriders.com/vbb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=232893&perpage=15&pagenumber=28[/url]
Rich Baker"
I certainly do not see this as abusive or foul. Nor did I (we) use abusive or foul language in our discussion with your staff or in my description of events in my forum post. I clearly see this as a poor attempt to portray us (me) as the instigator in this situation.
As far as the donuts, yes I did a donut in the parking lot wearing only my riding pants, helmet, and riding boots. No chest protector or goggles. There was a rider doing donuts for at least 15 minutes across the parking lot from us at the same time. Were they treated the same way as we were? I have witnessed on my other visit to your park many people doing donuts in the parking lot, berming the wood chip piles etc. Also, due to track closings, there were a few young children riding up and down the driving lane nearly all day on our last visit. It is clearly stated in your rules:
23. All riding is limited to designated areas only.
The parking lot and entry lane is a riding area? This was in clear view of staff. The red headed staff member was even helping the kids when they got stuck. I do not take issue with the children riding where they were. I do take issue with you grasping for any small infringement on our part to validate the unprofessional behavior of your staff.
As far as not being welcome back to the park, I am fine with this. I have read the feedback from the ATV Riders forum and find that many people are in agreement with my assessment of your staff. There are far better facilities that are appreciative of our patronage and they will be the ones we will enjoy our sport with.
Furthermore, your response to me in the e-mail states “I would have agreed you had until 4:30.” That should be enough to recognize that as patrons we were correct. I don't recall the foul language issue, nor do any of my riding partners. I'd also like to remind you that my friend brought his family riders, who are ages 9, 12, & 13. At no time did they violate any park rules, yet you are asking me to have him show up at the February meeting or you will not let his family ride at the park. That family has been members for 3 years. You should contact him directly.
This entire discussion would be a non issue had your staff let us continue to load up & leave the property as per the 4:30 closing time.
Rich Baker

Is it just me? or does this place get worse and worse as time goes?? yamahamx14
02-28-2007, 12:13 PM
i think they should start by building some jumps on it!!! :D lol
But seriously, i think they should build up the table tops, maybe put some doubles in, but from what i have seen there is a good amount of people that ride that track that arent really expierienced with jumping, so the jumps shouldnt be HUGE. I like the two lane thing that they have for this reason. I dont know how well this would go with the quads, but i would want them to put in a nice whoop section on the mx track. I probably wont be riding the atv mx track this summer, unless i borrow a quad from a friend, but I really think they should redesign all the tracks.
Over-land 450r
02-28-2007, 04:35 PM
from wat i drew up, there is 3 more tabletops, 2 whoop sections a single that im goin to try to get them to put 2 singles together so you can double it.
Im also throwing in an off camber turn( where the hair pin turn is.)
for better drainage.
Joe is there anyway you can post it? and can you scan it and send it to him for me?

well thats good... im all for younger and/or more inexpierienced riders to learn how to do the jumps and ride motocross, but putting them on the track with a bunch of faster, more expierienced riders wouldn't be safe. With better tracks (and maybe some better customer service), chats will definetly attract a bigger crowd (probably a faster crowd). Last time I went there was a kid was riding the quad track, and he wasn't a very expierienced rider (so he was a good amount slower then everyone else). Well, i dont know if it is inexpierience or stupidity, but the kid stopped his quad on the landing of a small table and ended up getting jumped on by the park owners son. Getting those type of riders of the track when the faster people are riding is going to make chats a safer place all around.
Maybe they should do how englishtown does it. when you sign up and pay they will ask you your expierience level (beginner, novice, amatur, or expert). Then they will have 20 or 30 minute motos for each class and rotate. It seems to work pretty well.

I tried 2 years ago to make the track better, I went over with the groomer on the changes. He called be back about a week later, the board wouldn't approve it. They said it was too much like a race track. The track has gotten worse recently, the 2 tabletops in the back have disappeared, it is now a real kiddie track. If any of you been to landing mx, the advanced novice mx track is far better than chatt's track, this is sad. Part of the problem there is the kids, there is a fair share of the adults who can't ride also. 1/2 - 3/4 of these people I can beat on my 200x, while they are riding anything from a 400ex to raptor. the park cators to the crowd that shows, if race people come, the track might be better, but if the same kids and adults who don't know how to ride keep coming the track will be lame. The last time I said something to them about how lame the track was they told me, that they got alot of people who complained that the track was too advanced and dangerous for them and their kids. Considering this, you really think they are gonna make it to a more race like track?????

if the track as it is now is too advanced for them or their kids then they should probably not be riding on that track. They should just stick with the intermediate track or the beginner area.

440ex4me also tried to get them to change it, but was unsuccessful. They're probably too regulated by the pine land authority that leases them the land.

the less advanced riders (kids and adults) should stick to the intermidiate track, not the PRO track, if we get kicked off the intermediate track, they should get kicked of the pro track. Maybee there should be a set lap time you have to beat to ride the track, lol

I don't think slower riders should be separated from faster riders. Chatsworth does not hold races so you should not be running children down because you're not going to see a checkered flag anyway.
Maybe the problem is not the slower riders, but with the faster riders. Faster riders can go to Englishtown or Atco where slower riders are less likely to be.

Im just saying that it is dangerous for a slow, inexpierienced rider (who probably should be riding on the track in the first place) to ride on the same track with faster riders.
So, from what you are saying some people should not ride at chats because we are more expierienced, quicker, and because some beginners dont know their abilities and ride on tracks that they probably do not belong on.
BTW englishtown has an intermediate/beginner track as well, and that is what the beginners ride. They do seperate the faster riders from the slower ones. A lot of beginners ride e town, enough to where they make their own class!

okay, did you read my last post? Children have a children's and begginer track, they shouldnt be on the pro track, i shouldn't have to get yelled at by some little kids dad because i passed them both when they were going so slow that they are a danger to other rides and them selves, Im not trying to be a d*ck, I want little guys to be out there ripping it up, but ride the right track.

Chatsworth is particularly accomodating to beginners. I think it's fair that advanced riders respect that.
