Heartland Challenge 10 Hour ATV Race Report

The Media All Stars team came out to play in Iowa and battled their way to the win in the 30+ class with 33 laps, while RAD Racing took second with 31 laps and Jet Motorsports rounded out the top three with 28 laps.

In the School Boy class, the Average Joe’s team walked away with the win with 31 laps and claimed and amazing 15th overall, while team Blitz claimed second with 20 laps.

In the Women’s class, team Mickelberry took the win with 25 laps in a time of 10:16:42. “We actually had a pretty tough day, we both took a tumble out there and had our ups and downs, but it was fun,” they said from the podium.

This year’s Ironman class attracted 12 brave racers who were up for the grueling 10 hour solo journey. Number 80, Matt Lindle, was the Ironman winner with an impressive total of 29 laps in 10:11:53, while Jason Stamps claimed second with 28 laps and Bernie rounded out the top three with 26 laps.

The 2014 GBC Heartland Challenge was certainly a success and seemed to have new life breathed into it, with more teams and more spectators than ever.  Andy Kyner and his team did an excellent job on putting together this event and hopefully it will be even bigger and better next year.
